I imagine Rhonda’s bedroom not quite matching her actual style. I feel like it’s pastel and cutesy like her outfit when she met Joyce. She never got a chance to redecorate it after she found her true style and/or her mom wouldn’t let her. She had put up posters of her interests but other then that it’s still firmly in her comphet era. She had quite the collection of records and a ton of fashion magazines. She has a few stuffed animals she had kept from when she was little, her favorite being a cat. Marjorie is really the only person that would hang out in there with her and they had countless sleepovers.

After her death her parents keep it exactly the same as she left until the house is sold

the ghosts always throw a last day of school party (even if it's more for the vibes than actually being happy most of their entertainment and snacks will disappear). like a lot of Mr. Martin's activities (and this one was a group decision anyway), it genuinely was fun, and filled with mostly fond memories.

so when the school temporarily closes for repairs (and everyone being in desperate need of having their spirits lifted), they throw an end of school party :)

Rhonda and Charley decide it needs to happen, and quickly bring in Fern, Elliot, and Sarah (though they weren't always regular attendees - they were a little less gung-ho with the group than our main gang). they surprise Quinn and Yuri with it, just for fun (Mina is also mostly present, which is good - the band is unfortunately just the background music). they invite the livings (though Maddie and Simon have a significantly better time than Claire, Xavier, and Nicole), and just try to relax.

they make the best out of a bad situation - jokes about the school and its damage, a few fire themed games (which despite the trauma they all find funny). Yuri and Quinn talk about their lives a bit more with the group, which are lesser known more just because there hasn't been time than anything else. Fern, Elliot, Sarah, and Mina get to do the same (though for the first three that's more of a thing of being talked over sometimes in group, or as previously mentioned, being less regular attendees). Maddie and Simon share what they can with the others, who are honestly just living (ha) for the experience even if it's much quieter for them.

a few random things that happen that day/night (it's a long party): Simon actually gets a chance to talk to Elliot, Fern, and Sarah, and finds out they're honestly pretty chill; Mina bonds with Quinn and Yuri over the experience of looping (or similar); Yuri lifts Charley bridal style on a date and Charley is very cool about it, totally cool; Quinn brings food over to the band kids and updates them occasionally throughout the party; Rhonda and Maddie take a break from the party to just sit quietly with each other; and the livings watch a chair break itself, because apparently sometimes (especially with the barrier broken and the fire having thinned the veil) when something is made permanent in the ghost world, it kind of leaks into the real world as well (the ghosts made it permanent for fun just to try this)

🏳️‍🌈 Happy pride month!!! 🏳️‍🌈 I wanna share a School Spirits pride month headcanon I came up with, and absolutely fell in love with.

Whenever pride month started to be something outwardly celebrated in Split River Highschool, it brought up mixed feelings among the queer ghosts.

Charley tried to hide it with jokes, but he would get really sad about never being able to celebrate his identity the way the kids could now. At some point, Mr Martin integrated some pride activities into group during the month, but all it ever did was make him feel uncomfortably singled out.

After a few years of Rhonda watching Charley’s mood drop during June, she approached him and offered for the two of them to have their own private pride month celebration. This is when she tells him that she’s queer for the first time. (The first time she’s come out to anyone)

So, it becomes a tradition that they spend quite a bit of alone time during pride month. They do things like steal little pride flags from classrooms or find somewhere private to exchange stories and read whatever queer literature they can get their hands on.

Rhonda doesn’t talk much about her sexuality. Eventually other ghosts kinda piece together that she’s queer through things she says, but she never talks about it. She tells Charley that it’s because since she only fully understood her identity in death, it’s irrelevant to her. But Pride month is different, it’s the time once a year that she talks about things like celebrity crushes, locker room nervousness, and how after meeting Joyce, the puzzle pieces of who she was started to fall into place.

Pride was relevant, even after death. Because pride gave Rhonda and Charley the chance to connect in a way neither of them had in life. And now with Quinn, Yuri, and a broken barrier, they can lean into pride in new and exciting ways. Expanding their community, and proving to themselves that queerness and pride, is timeless.
