âI donât think there ever will be, honestly.â

Luca: I'd hate to suggest letting her play this out, but....
Buddy: I hate to admit you're probably right
Mags had never been so hurt by words in her entire life. She had only been trying to do what was right. She didnât have any fight left, tears breaking from her eyes as she turned and ran back into Karens, She hated this. She hated that he refused to see her side.Â
He watched her run back inside and everything in him wanted to run after her. He stood there for a long time, thinking and he sighed before finally going back inside and sitting down. âIâm sorry, Maggie. For going off like that. But I canât and wonât apologize for how I feel. And you canât ask me to be at this wedding. I donât support it.â
âBuddy wait!â She chased after him, catching up just outside the door. âBuddy.. I know that none of this is.. ideal.. But I want you in my life.. I canât not have you around. Youâre.. youâre really important to me.â
Buddy finally lost his cool as he whirled around to face her. âItâs bullshit. This whole fucking thing is bullshit, Margaret.â He spat, using her full name. âIâm not going to watch you marry some asshole. Iâm not going to sit back and fucking watch you throw your life away! You are so much better than this and you are meant for so much more than some half-assed, miserable life as the wife for some pathetic excuse for a preacher.â He growled the last part. âAnd as for me? I donât want to watch you âget married,â He said, using air quotes, âTo a guy who I canât fucking stand. I think he is a selfish, egotistical, piece of trash. And I would be more than happy to see him behind bars or in the ground. I canât do it and more importantly, I wonât. I love you, Maggie. And I know you donât know what that means, but it means that I would give up my entire fucking life for you. I would literally do anything for you. Except this. I will not be there.â
âFantastic! Iâd really love to see them. Iâm actually super glad I ran into you. I have something I wanted to give you.â She rummaged around in her bag for a moment before she found the paper she was looking for. Handing over the small piece of card stock was the most heart breaking thing she had ever done, but she knew she wanted him there more than anything, even if it hurt. âItâs not legal or anything, mom canât sign the papers from prison. But itâs binding in the eyes of the lord, which is the important part.â
He stared at the piece of cardstock she had given him and fought the urge to throw up. He looked back up at her and, unable to hide his emotions anymore, shook his head. âThis is...I canât be there. Iâm sorry.â He said, handing the invitation back to her. âI have to go.â He said, turning and heading for the door, trying his best to keep the bile rising in his stomach at bay.Â
âBlessed.â She lied, her smile as fake as she felt. âThe church is coming back together really well. Luca even joined. Itâs coming along really nice. Mom would be proud. You and your parents should come to service this sunday.â
Buddy fought the eye roll and sigh that was desperate to escape. Instead, he faked a smile. âSure. Iâll talk to them.â
What do you love most about Margaret?
Her spirit. And her heart. Sheâd do anything for anyone. She sees the world through rose colored glasses and it gives her a sweet naive quality.Â

Luca: She's a stubborn one that's for sure.
Buddy: That's an understatement.
If you had 3 wishes without consequence, what would they be and why?
To be famous for my music.Â
To always have exact change for anything I need/want.Â
To have Maggie back with me.Â

Luca: I know. I think she needs to know that.
Buddy: Idk what else to say to her though.
âIâm not keeping you from anything am I?â She asked, not wanting to ruin anything. She had made enough of a mess of things. âBecause I donât wanna hold you up if youâre busy. I just wanted to say hi.â She almost told him she missed him. She almost opened the flood gates and poured out her heart but she stopped herself. She had no right to keep hurting him like this
âUh...I was on my way to work but I have a few minutes.â He shrugged. âHow have you been, Maggie?â He asked, rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand. He had no idea how to act with her anymore and it killed him.Â
Anything you like.

Luca: Okay it's an option I suppose. Personally never done it but i'm sure there are youtube tutorials. Also that isn't gonna stop the next guy from stepping up and Margaret shifting to him
Buddy: This is so stupid. I hate him. She deserves better than that.
She hadnât looked up from her notes for what felt like hours, but the shift in the room was too heavy to ignore. She knew exactly who she was looking for before she even even started looking. âBuddy?â She locked eyes with the boy waiting at the counter. âHey you.â She smiled, pretending as if nothing was wrong.
When he glanced at her for like the fifth time, he found her looking back at him. He quickly looked away but when she said his name, his resolve crumbled and he turned around. She was acting like nothing had even happened. He sighed and grabbed his order and walked over to her. âHey.â He said softly.Â

Luca: I know.
Luca: But I don't know how we can make her come home. She's hell bent on this.
Buddy: We could just kill that stupid son of a bitch. Bury his body in the backyard. No one would miss him.
Buddy was walking in to Karenâs to grab dinner before going to work when he saw her sitting in the corner. He hadnât seen her since she up and left and he was hurt and angry and frustrated but he loved her. He debated if he should go up and talk to her or if he should just order his food and be on his way. In the end, he decided it was best if he just ordered his food and went to work. Bypassing her table, he walked to the counter and ordered his food, sneaking glances back at the girl he was in love with, who couldnât love him back.Â

Buddy: She's gone. She left a note on my pillow. Her shit is gone. My parents just told me that Joseph got released. He can't...we have to make her come home. She can't sit in that fucking hell hole with that piece of shit.
