Huh? Ain’t she affected with ‘em? Marzena tilts her head at the little girl curiously. Without diving into her mindscape, she can’t be sure. Still, if the girl is unaffected, that was all the more reason to get her into the main lodge before the nightmares get to her. The last thing Marzena needs is another half-insane kid driving her up the wall.
“If you wanna keep it that way, you’d better come with me,” Marzena says, taking Maple’s hand. She notices the dirt but doesn’t much care. ” ‘Sides, if you ain’t careful, those psychic bears’ll get you somethin’ good.”
Maple pulls her hand out of Marzena’s grip and grabs her jacket. She puts it on and stands up. “I’ll follow you but I don’t need my hand held. I’m not a baby.” She pouts.
Marzena shrugs. “Suit yourself,” she sighs as they walk up the ramp to the main lodge. Before entering, though, Marzena pokes her head around the side of the lodge to see if Daichi’s still there. He is. She shakes her head. “Go on in, I gotta take care of this bozo,” she tells Maple over her shoulder as she walks up to Daichi. He doesn’t look as dazed as he did before, but it’s still taking him an unusually long time to snap out of his trance. Marzena frowns. Did she mess something up in his head? She doesn’t think she did, but it was always tricky work. She pulls out the pocket watch and flips it open, checking the time—the clock still reads 5:49. Holding the watch in front of Daichi’s nose, she forcibly snaps it shut, hoping the sound will snap the Psychonaut out of his trance.
Maple smiles at her use of the word 'bozo' and walks inside of the lodge. She sits down at one of the tables and waits for nothing in particular. her fingers start tapping out a beat as a way to curb her boredom. Maybe she find some spider to stare at.
She doesn't hear any yelling coming from the tv room. Nina and Junior must have stopped arguing. Maple stares at the entrance to the room hesitantly and after a few moments turns her head away and begins tapping her fingers again. 'Nina probably still needs some time to cool down' she decides, without actually knowing if that's how Nina works or not. It doesn't matter to her. Not getting yelled at is priority.
