On the whole FNAF and Scott Cawthon thing, I'm still going to be working on The Overpass.
I believe that Cawthon has the right to his opinions and beliefs and that he should never have been doxed or threatened. He and his games have been very large parts of my life, and I respect him for coming back and responding to being cancelled.
However, I'm not going to carry Scott's beliefs over to The Overpass. Is The Overpass a FNAF fanfiction? Yes. Does that make everyone in the story have the same beliefs as Scott? No.
Will I still be a fan of FNAF? Of course! But will I still be a fan of Scott? I'm not so sure anymore. I'm not sure of much right now, but what I am sure of is that I will always support the LGBTQ and POC communities.
However, I will not support those who dox and threaten people's families. That is screwed up beyond belief, and those who do it should be ashamed of themselves.
Much like how Michael Afton is not his father, The Overpass and Five Nights at Freddy's are not Scott Cawthon. I hope that fans can continues to enjoy the games separate from Mr. Cawthon and his beliefs.
I hope everyone out there, both those involved with this controversy and those merely watching from the sidelines, are well and healthy. I hope that everyone has food to eat and friends to laugh with. I hope that everyone is happy, or can at least be happy when this is over.
