Sorta all over the place but these were some sketches from when I started developing Coppers lore more for HS AU

A naïve boy who wanted to do good getting told a glorious lie and joining up at the ripe age of 18 and is still paying consequences of that decision at 32, still feeling the reverberations of that single mistake

He’s kinda fucked up about it not going to lieee there’s some other things that fundamentally changed his brain chemistry too, but this was one of the big ones. This lore or at least the rhymes of it isn’t specific to HS AU I have my own story called Epoch: Ego where this originally comes from (coppers home universe) and I just sorta reformatted/expanded on it for HS AU

In my head these sketches were around from when before they were dating but still besties which is really amusing considering they're over here having having sleepovers and hanging out like an old married couple

Also a little extra thing with copper and his prosthetics or at least the early designs I had for them

I was really proud of this one, this is a view of Coppers desk area in his class! I think I would like to redraw it eventually maybe

I like how it show how sentimental he is with all the little details, he’s beautiful and he has sm love in his heart 💜

Oh my god I haven’t even shown Highschool AU yet I’m a fake ass fannnnnn

This was some of the first sketches from 2024 of it and it’s still one of my fave aus, honestly helped with a lot of development with Copper (and his relationship with Scott ofc smirk)

Whenever I draw my OCs as human now it’s usually HS AU even if not explicitly said, the base human AU if you will

Copper is a Workshop class teacher and Scott’s a Language Arts teacher!

I remember doing research on jumping spider life cycles and decided to draw Copper at the different instar stages for fun

His i2 stage is my favorite, he's microscopic 💜

Copper in his work uniform! He's a Redstone Engineer that works in the #mines on mining machines. He does the schematics and he oversees their construction and maintenance he's very busy down there :)

It's kind of sad that they didn't at least get to become witches together since Scott destroyed Copper's witch and carried his grief seed until he also turned some indisclosed amount of time later.

They could have destroyed the world together man

Speaking of falling into despairrr, I'm js gunna paste the original description I had for this post here

{A Rapid Descent}

I know I keep saying that his soul corruption would be instantaneous if he finds out, but if I'm being honest it would probably be more like a few days or a week at most. In that time he would be reluctant to fight witches as he'd see them as more human than anything now, and would try and "save" them and fail each time.

Moreover, during all of this, he would be starving himself of grief seeds as purifying his own soul with the remains of another is horrifying to him now. He wont stop others from doing it because he knows that objectively they need that to live but he just can't bring himself to do it anymore.

Of course, days of this behavior and the truth gnawing away at his mental state will eventually bring him to the end of his contract.

Now i will say he is talking to someone else so

Ah yes, Madoka Magica AU also known as the doomed yaoi AU where Copper turns into a giant clock before getting put down by his best friend

I fucking love this AU

At least Coppers grief seed is pretty to look at

Honestly one of the reasons I like this AU is because it shows how easy it can be for Copper to get tunnel vision and become obsessive over a self imposed purpose. He really just wanted to help people and in turn save the witches when he learned the truth but turns out staking your everything on an impossible goal isn't too greatttt

especially when it turns out to be all bullshit

It really sucks because if falling into despair wasn't practically a death sentence I do think Copper would have made it out the other side of it but alas

So at this time it was Artfight 2024! I think this was the first year of AF I ever joined hehe ngl I still like this piece he’s really pretty in this one there’s only a few things I’d adjust but it still holds up!
