heyo, this is @bugdotpng’s snart blog. i’m learning to love art again so i’m takin it easy. here’s some wayfinding:

most of my art nowadays is of original characters, then the majority of my art within that is of characters from my original story vice versa

some characters you will likely see a lot are emory and danny, as well as gen and rami; they are my beloved blorbos

i couldn't help myself and had to commit to the bit of danny always taking bad photos :3 even if he didn't always come out blurry his awkward shrimp posture would ruin the photo anyway lol

when i want to draw but can't think of what, my formula of "symmetry"+ "danny all fucked up" is my default where i can just turn da brain off. closeup and lines under the cut. i implore you to open in a new tab and observe my goopy lines :3

i thought it would be fun to do a sort of chapter-recap illustration for each "chapter" of vice versa. i may hate myself for this later. at the very least, here's the one for chapter one! you can start reading vice versa here!

i only have 1.0.0 out at the moment (and some small contextualizing pieces around it) and am stuck on 1.1.0 but i think 1.0.0 is a fun read on its own :3c

2025 was an interesting year for my art. i've gotten better about only drawing when i want to, and i really think i'm starting to enjoy the hobby again. i may have drawn more this year if i wasn't also splitting my creative energy with working on my worldbuilding project (among other things), but i don't think that's a loss at all. it's been fun having non-digital-art projects to work on, so i'm not getting bored or forcing myself to be creative when that's not the way my brain wants to work in the moment.

i feel like as i get older and i find more ways to spend my creative energy, i'm going to be drawing less. and i think that's bittersweet! drawing has ALWAYS been my go-to stress-reliever, but this year especially i've found some other artistic (and even not artistic!) endeavors that help with that, so i'm putting less "pressure" on my art to provide stress relief. even tho i used art as an escape as a kid, i never really viewed it that way, and i only drew because i wanted to. i think i'm on my way to having that relationship with my art again. which may result in less art! but that's speculative, i have no idea what 2026 has in store for me.

regardless, i don't wanna get too sappy on this post (i always do lol drawing is an emotional topic for me!) but given everything i went through this year surgery-wise, i'm really glad i had drawing to lean on, just like i did when i was recovering from surgeries as a kid :'^) looking forward to 2026, i think it's gonna be a good year
