At last, we’ve arrived at day 3 of our Walt Disney World epic with Irwin. We’re all pretty tired at this point! And don’t even ask me what my feet looked like at this point. But I’ve wanted to visit Epcot since I was a kid, so I was determined to see and do as much as my spoons would allow.
And that turned out to be a lot! We started our day off by rope dropping for Cosmic Rewind! This Guardians of the Galaxy ride is the one with the longest waiting times at just about any of WDW’s four parks right now. Even with getting to Epcot super early and being among the first 40 or so people in line, we waited for over 45 minutes. That wasn’t too bad at all.
While I’m not a huge Marvel fan personally these days, I have to admit Cosmic Rewind might be one of the best rides I’ve ever been on in my life. It’s difficult to describe, but you’re basically being moved around at ridiculous speeds on one of the smoothest coasters I’ve ever experienced. All while music plays all around you. I even closed my eyes for a moment because it was so just so unlike any dark ride or roller coaster I’ve been on. I probably could have fallen asleep after 10 or so minutes!
Irwin has been happily babbling about the ride ever since we got home, but that wasn’t the only thing we did with our day! Epcot had the most walking in store for us, and we wanted to check out a pretty long list of rides, so we were constantly on the move. We made time for Gran Fiesta Tour, Frozen Ever After, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, Spaceship Earth, and Mission: SPACE! That’s why it was hard to take more photos and videos than we’ve got here. It was often moving quickly from one place to the next. I promise those will be a little more exciting next time.
The Shanghai Disney Resort section at Epcot’s China Pavillion was a big, big highlight for everyone! But especially for Irwin and his special friend, who was a bit too shy to come with us for the most part. But we’re glad LinaBell got to see the Duffy and Friends stuff, too. Irwin felt very smart showing off everything he knows to his new friend. I think LinaBell probably knew everything already, but she’s much too polite to tell Irwin that. He thinks he’s her older brother and that’s fine with her!
After LinaBell and Irwin enjoyed a quick rest on a lovely day with good temperatures and some brief moments of rain, we were off! We would explore every single pavilion that day. While I loved them all, there was one store in the German section in particular I was really looking forward to.
