I’m scared but I’m pretending to be brave. Life is crowding my plate but I’m navigating it all the best I know how, with as much grace as possible (which isn’t much at this point.) I‘ll keep praying and meditating (the same practice for me & my life). 🫂

Presenting some *very* early stage research tomorrow and I'm not nervous but I am!!! Just hoping to get some good advice/feedback before I spend a few weeks digging through archives in Salvador de Bahia this summer. Economists are evil tho so I'm thickening my skin preemptively.

It's the final stretch.
[Unfortunately longer posts are being skipped so I've linked to relevant posts where you can hear Mahmoud's own words on these topics.]
Mahmoud @ma7moudgaza2 has gone through a lot. From the destruction of his home to surviving the Al-Shifa massacre to starvation due to the price of flour to struggling to pay tuition fees to be allowed to sit for exams remotely.
Now Mahmoud has decided to leave Gaza.
He has complicated feelings about this as he loves Gaza dearly and parting from his family is difficult, as they have chosen to remain come what may, but he needs to be able to work and continue his education.
Like others who seek to leave Gaza, he faces the problem of being at the mercy of the border, which the occupation and Egypt seem to operate at their cruel whims.
On top of that, the money from Mahmoud's fundraiser is being constantly depleted to make ends meet. In paying for the basic necessities for his family and his brother's family, he is left with little to afford his passage across the border when it opens. His campaign has also been stagnating severely no matter how much he promotes this.
I ask for your generosity in helping Mahmoud overcome this.
