The Outcome & Analysis
My aim was to produce a piece that suggests or originates from the beginning middle and end using a piece of string and finally into a printed format. I feel that I have achieved this goal. I decided to work on the notion of perceiving or gaining an idea, just like when Archimedes- shouted Eureka! when he grasped his idea of determining the volume of an object with an irregular shape.
My string piece shows confusion at one angle or an idea not yet formed or realised but as you move around to a certain angle all of a sudden you get that eureka moment where all becomes clear and you can see the build shape form, and you understand it.
The final piece had to be printed out and so i decided that a flipbook would be the best format as this way people could still discover the process as if they were looking at it them selves from the beginning the middle and to the end. I thought just having pictures next to each other would dilute the surprise.
Looking back on the flipbook i can see that maybe having the hand switch off the light could be confusing the meaning i am trying to put across which is gaining an idea or the feel of gaining an idea.
Overall I am glad with the outcome and feel that it is a graphical success.
