Hiya, I have a question over health food. My friends and significant other have been getting mad at me because of the food I have. I hardly eat and can't afford much anything, often my kitchen is bare. They're worried the food I have isn't healthy for me. I've told all of them I just get what I can afford and that's that. They have every right to be worried, but what can I do? In the long run I'd like to have good food, but idk how to get healthy food that I can at least afford. Any advice??

Hey, we’re not experts on health or nutrition, but if you’re struggling to eat, I’d suggest buying and eating as much nutrient dense food as you can. Do your friends have suggestions on things you could buy or eat? Some ideas for nutrient dense yet relatively inexpensive food include:

peanut butter

eggs

canned beans

dry rice

dry lentils

chicken– buying a whole one is usually cheaper than sliced

canned tuna

canned salmon

tofu, depending on where you live

whole wheat bread

whole wheat pasta

whatever veggies you can get– either on sale, frozen, or fresh!

whatever fruits are in season!

some of the cheapest fruits and veggies are– loose carrots, potatoes, cabbage, onions, celery, bananas…

try to eat a wide range of vegetable and fruit colors

I need help

If I can’t afford rent for the next few months until I get a job my puppy and I are going to have no place to go. I’m 17 and I’m supposed to be starting my Senior year in August.
