The 1969 Opel CD (Coupé Diplomat) is a grand tourer concept unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, designed by Charles "Chuck" Jordan. It featured a futuristic, forward-tilting single-piece canopy, aerodynamic fibreglass bodywork, and a 327ci Chevrolet V8 (shared with Opel's Diplomat Sedan. A toned-down version was designed by Pietro Frua and put into production as the Bitter CD by former race car driver Erich Bitter.
Designed by Tom Tjaarda soon after he joined Ghia, the Serenissima Ghia GT was first presented on the Ghia stand at the 1968 Turin Auto Show. Scuderia Serenissima was a racing team funded by Giovanni Volpi, but his ambitions to move into road cars ended with the Ghia GT. Serenissima ("Most Serene") refers to one of the many names the city of Venice (home of the Volpi family) is known by.
Presented at the 17th Tokyo Motor Show in 1970, the Isuzu Bellett 1600 MX II was designed at Ghia by Tom Tjaarda. It was a prototype for a mid-engined sports car powered by Isuzu’s 1.6-litre DOHC engine. Isuzu chose not to put it into production, but Tjaarda recycled the styling and scaled it up for the De Tomaso Pantera.
The Toyota Publica Sports Concept of 1962 was a ground-breaking small sports car prototype with a sliding canopy roof that could be removed completely. It was designed by Shozo Sato and engineered by Tatsuo Hasegawa, a former WWII aircraft designer who prioritised advanced aerodynamics and weight reduction. It was powered by a compact 697cc air-cooled, horizontally opposed two-cylinder engine. It was put into in 1965 as the the Toyota Sports 800 minus the sliding roof but with doors
The 1956 Chrysler Norseman was designed by Chrysler’s styling chief Virgil Exner and built by the Italian coachbuilder Ghia, with whom Chrysler had worked through the 1950s. The fully functional prototype was based on a V8 Hemi-powered Chrysler chassis. The concept car was lost at sea when the ocean liner SS Andrea Doria, that was transporting it to the US, sank on 25 July 1956.
The 1989 Porsche Panamericana was an open-wheel sports car concept unveiled at the 1989 Frankfurt Motor Show. It was built as an 80th birthday gift for Ferry Porsche, the son of company founder Ferdinand Porsche. The car combined traditional 911 sports car dynamics with off-road dune buggy styling, serving as a futuristic blueprint for Porsche's design direction in the 1990s.

Bathroom for House Beautiful magazine - Alan Buchsbaum (1971)
“Buchsbaum’s objective, for a House Beautiful story, was to rethink the traditional bathroom. In so doing, he not only found space for additional fixtures but also intimated new ways for the body to be in the bathroom.
In separating a grooming anteroom from the rest of the bathroom, Buchsbaum created a much-appreciated dry space for make-up and mirrors. In the “wet” room, he exploded the normally rectilinear composition of fixtures by projecting the toilet, bidet, and tub off the plumbing core at varying angles. In contrast, a circular sink floats independently, and the shower platform, accessed by a short stair, efficiently took up the residual space behind the tub. Buchsbaum used a bold and vibrant palette of primary yellow, bright red, and lime green in the super-graphics style to reinforce his design of the new bathroom.”
