he took a chance and fuck his bad luck. a goddamn dead end is what he sees at the end of the alley. there was nowhere for him to run from the two men who had him cornered.

everyone on the wrong side of the law has heard of them. the vigilantes of busan who’ve taken the duty of dealing with small time criminals into their own hands. the goddamn metahumans who decided to ‘use their powers for good’. he’s heard about these two, he’s heard that most people don’t come back from facing them down.

they watch him from where they stand, the streetlights illuminating them. he snorts, the vigilantes were nothing but a couple of kids who think they were heroes just because something fucked up in their DNA. he might have been outnumbered and powerless but he’s secure with the knowledge that he’s got a gun which he pulls out on them.

the smaller one gets tugged behind his taller partner. that’s the bigger threat of the two. the boy might have looked young but he’s seen the muscles on him; this one could snap him like a twig. whatever abilities they had, it didn’t matter to him now. there was no turning back at this point.

‘deal with them one at a time. you might still make it out,’ His aim is steady as he shoots: once, twice. the taller boy falls, he trains the gun on the smaller boy. “you’ve ten seconds before I shoot. take your friend and go.”

“oh, you don’t have to worry about him,” the smaller boy smiles, unconcerned about the fact that his partner was bleeding out at his feet.

“what the fuck,” he frowns, finger twitching on the trigger. the boy waves, the ground beneath him splits.
