I really like winter. Why is because breaths come out in puffs and here and there looking at people thickly wrapped in clothes, just seeing that kind of day was nice.

More than anything the time when I dreamed of music, when I cleared myself of the mire of difficult practice all day and headed towards home. While looking at the breaths of air that were dispersing, when the things that had stayed inside me also freely dispersed, I often thought “how nice.” The me at that time more than liking winter was longing for winter.

I wanted to become like winter. Cold and indifferent but also free and clear. That kind of person.

While growing as a person, I worked hard to resemble the many things I longed for. Out of those, my desire to resemble winter was definitely in the lead.

I felt that winter was cold before I started work. I felt that it was lonely and difficult. Feeling that trying times were reaching their peak, the season of dreaming of hope. That was winter.

Before the day of a tough skin forming around my heart someday, I came close enough to resembling winter, and those who understood and embraced that me were there in the world.

Like that, I became winter.

More warmly than my expectation.
