Vet visit !
I took Pickle to the vet today. Of course the severe symptoms I witnessed on Tuesday seemed to be completely cleared up and I had neither heard him sneeze nor seen any discharge around his nose. I explained the symptoms I saw on Tuesday - wheezing, sneezing, runny/stuffy nose. My veterinarian immediately prescribed what I thought she would, baytril, because while I know it to be true, she has come to realize Pickle is really great at hiding his symptoms when it comes to being dragged to he vet. He always seems to be miraculously healed upon arrival. A lot of bunnies will only show symptoms when they are disastrously sick so take ANY symptom seriously!
Sometimes symptoms such as sneezing are caused by allergies or debris in the nose, however, consistent or reoccurring sneezing and nasal discharge is more likely a sign of a upper respiratory infection or a teeth problem. Simple infections or a teeth problems can turn serious at any moment. For example, an upper respiratory infection can cause deeper problems, pneumonia, ear infections, eye infections and other complications from those illnesses (such as abscesses - yuck).
That being said, I was really hopeful that his symptoms were from allergies or debris, however, I always play it safe with the bun and make an appointment right away in case he gets worse and track his symptoms until I can get him in. His symptoms were increasingly bad starting almost immediately after I made his appointment so I was very thankful I called the moment I could. Last time I had to wait almost a week to get him in because I hesitated a few extra hours.
My suggestion to bun owners, especially you newer ones, is find a good vet or two. Make sure you know their hours/days. Always make appointments the moment you know something is off. Your bun might not thank you with more than a thump or a kick to the face if you’re lucky but you’ll be thankful you still have a bun at the end of the day.
Seconding this. Bunnies, being prey animals, instinctively hide any weakness so as not to make themselves a more tempting target for predators. That’s why if you see symptoms, you should have them looked at immediately!

I'm hearing different things from different people about giving your bunny a bath what do you prefer
No bath!! Rabbits are great at cleaning themselves.
It’ll only shock (heart attack!) your bun and make him/her get upset(at you mostly!). Bath is unnecessary, unless it’s a hard hot mess(ex. diarrhea or wet stool) or your bun is too sick/old that self-cleaning is difficult.
Even when it’s needed, only spot clean with warm wet towel(yes, just water. no soap, no chemicals) or give shallow water butt bath(again, only water. just enough to submerge flat hind foot) and DO NOT wet the entire body. And DO NOT blow dry. Poor bun will suffer from loud fan noise. Do dry as much as you can or your bun may suffer from hypothermia. Pet dry, towel dry gently, and slowly rub with your warm hand if you like. Zoro had total of 3 cases of butt bath within almost 2 years. He never smells(rabbits do not sweat), I sniff him everyday. His feet rarely gets stained with urine, since he self-cleans frequently and I clean the litter box every other day. I think Rabbits themselves don’t go stinky, unless their environment is messy and/or litter box is not cleaned/unattended frequently.
Don’t worry if just water doesn’t completely get rid of dirt. Just let your bun take care of the rest. Clean what you can with water - I heard cases of wet cornstarch rubs, but I don’t think even that’s necessary. Repeat cleaning if needed but again, most of the time, your bun can clean the rest after themselves.
I’m so glad you asked me this. Don’t let those “cute” bathing bunny/ wet bunny photos and videos fool you!! Bless those poor buns.
