I tried to take Otis out for a walk and a pee this morning. It was barely spitting but it turns out the little doggo is not a fan of the rain. He literally put one paw out then bolted back inside. Any recommendations from fellow doggy owners who have had this issue? Should I get him a little raincoat? Or just follow him around with an umbrella at all times when the weather is bad? 

You want to follow your dog around with an umbrella? Don’t you think that’s doing too much? 

It’s not the rain is permanent anyway, Puckerman. Just, like, wait a few days, and the problem totally solves itself - no?

Struggles ga-fucking-lore! I’m attempting to prepare my iconic ‘Camp Movie Marathon’ drinking games for the certain-to-be-iconic lake trip, but I’m really stuck on whether I should include Legally Blondes, the one with those little British bitches because it’s honestly so fucking camp, or squeeze in one of the Sleepaway Camp sequels…Decision making is tough.

I’d basically rather poke out my left eyeball with a smores skewer than watch Legally Blondes again. That nickname followed me and my sister around for way too long. So. My vote is going to be with ‘literally anything else,’ this time, Smythe. Maybe we could watch a few episodes of Gossip Girl instead for a little inspiration on how to bring some interest to this boring little town. 

You know, or Herbie fully loaded. I always love a Lindsey Lohan movie.

I might go downtown, though. I thought it would be fun to take myself shopping with Daddy’s credit card since he just paid the bill. He won’t even notice until next month, and I’ll totally have an excuse by then. Do you want to come, or are you going to spend all day... working out?

If you think telling me that you’re attending a bonfire is somehow going to bother me, I think you’re mistaken. I wasn’t telling people not to enjoy themselves, and frankly it wasn’t a rant, I just want people to be safe and make sure they’re taking the necessary precautions so you can keep having your fun. I’d hardly say I’m obssessed with fire, more like making sure no fires start considering I’m Lima’s Fire Captain and have been for about 5 years now.

If you think people mention fun activities just to get under your skin, then I think you have bigger than problems than my intentions. I can see the obsession totes runs deep, though. I mean, you say ‘hardly’, and yet here we are. Still talking about it. Congrats on being the Captain of the lamest crew in town, though. I guess. 

Anyway, pink or red? I’m indecisive.

Bunny couldn’t count how many times her father had urged her to sell the cherry red Mercedes that seemed to be more or less in pieces over the floor of the tire shop, and for a moment she thought he might be onto something. She didn’t know how much money she had funneled into it over the years; she could count on it to break down when she needed it most. There was something about the vintage little cherry bomb that she couldn’t seem to let go of, though. Maybe it was the fact that it had been a gift from her grandfather... Maybe she just liked the chaos. Either way - Bunny was stuck with the Mercedes. Whether she liked it or not. “Ugh, do you know how much longer this is going to take?” She almost had the urge to bend down and get on Billie’s level, but she thought better of it when she realized she’d definitely stain her skirt on the oil stains. No thank you. 

“No offense or anything, Burt just got this done, like, way faster last time I was here,” Bunny blew a strand of hair out of her face; arms crossed over her chest as she sunk down into the nearest chair. “And if I take any longer I’m, like, definitely going to have to explain to my Dad why I was late for Doubles at the Country Club, and he’s definitely going to make a big deal out of my car breaking down. Again.”

“Okay, Stevie Evans! Honest opinion, cross your heart and hope to die,” Bunny knew it was dramatic, but she twirled in the spot she stood anyway; her green eyes catching her own reflection in the mirror as her skirt caught the wind a little. It was the third outfit she had tried on that afternoon - the second time she had put on this exact sweater - and she couldn’t help but feel a little desperate for the right kind of confirmation. But, alas, country club days had always had Bunny feeling more than a little self conscious...and it had only been more true since she had come back to Lima. It was like she was nervous one of those hawkeyed women might see right through her; break apart her defenses and figure out the absolute goldmine of a secret she had been hiding behind.

 Bunny also knew that was ridiculous, though. If there was one thing she had learned in Lima, it was how to hide things -- from her parents, and their friends. She just needed to look the part of confident socialite, and what would they have to question? “Am I giving equal parts hot, and classy, or should I put the blue skirt back on? Because white is cute, but it’s a little... ‘hello professor,’ if you catch my drift, and I just know Mrs. Judy Fabray won’t be able to resist the urge to hop on the opp and say something about it.”

I didn’t realise how much I actually needed a vacation until I finally took one. A few days away in the most beautiful beach house with stunning views and all the wine, it was definitely a struggle returning back home. It was a dream, but now I’m home and back to bringing lil miracles into the world.

Sorry - are you calling babies ‘lil miracles?’ More like ‘lil funsuckers,’ or ‘tiny cretins.’ The only acceptable one is Wolfie’s spawn, and even then, Poet is definitely not allowed in my room until she learns how to touch things without destroying them. 

Anyway, vacation time is totally understandable. If I worked with pregnant women all day I’d probably want to tear my hair directly out of my scalp.

As summer already seems to be in full force obviously this is going to be an annual reminder to just be careful with anything that could possibly ignite. I’m aware campfires and s’mores are fun and I encourage them, as long as it’s done safely. Most fires are preventable and summer is no fun if we’re covered in smoke smog. Be safe, have fun, don’t make my job harder, please.

Wow. While you were ranting about - whatever - it totally just reminded me that I’ve got a bonfire on the beach tonight, and like, haven’t picked out anything to wear. What do you think? Pink bikini? Or maybe you like red better since you’re, like, so obsessed with fire or whatever.

This is your reminder that, just because you see someone walking a dog, it doesn’t give you an automatic right to pet that dog. I don’t care if you’re great with animals or if you have three dogs at home, you should always ask someone if you can pet their dog before you actually do reach forward… You never know if that dog is undergoing training or if it doesn’t like to be pet by people it doesn’t know, and I get it… dogs are great creatures, but c’mon now… Use some common sense.

This goes especially true if that dog has a vest on. If they have a vest on, it’s because they’re doing a job and you petting them would distract them.

And this is your reminder that I, like, totally could have spent the last minute listening to anything else, and I spent it listening to your rant about ...dog rules? Dog rules. 

This could be a real learning opportunity that peoples’ time is totally valuable - and precious - so. Maybe try a some visual aids next time, or a power point if you’re going to insist on these surprise TED talks. ...Or maybe you could bring the dog next time. I have a feeling he’d make this whole speech, like, fifty percent less boring. 

Eh. Maybe twenty-five percent.

So, Oreo now has S’mores flavored Oreos for the summer and I think I’m officially in love. They’re sooo good! 5/5 - Highly recommend. Although I think not calling them S’mOreos was such a missed opportunity.

Please don’t judge me if you see me with a cart full at the grocery store. I mean, they’re seasonal! I have to stock up.

I’ll never understand the whole ‘flavored Oreo’ thing, but any company that’s trying to sell a watermelon flavored cookie has already lost the plot. You’re just encouraging them to keep selling grosser versions of already perfected foods. Like... just make smores.

Just have some fun before you eventually trip and fall into your soulmates bed and completely screw yourself in the heartbreak department.

Is it possible the potholes in this town are strategically placed for maximum damage or something? I don’t know why but it feels like all I’ve been doing this week is putting new tires on cars, like way more than usual. I mean, more work is good but if you told me the same car came back multiple times I’d believe it. Be careful driving out there, everybody.

Not to be all tin-foil hat, because, like... conspiracy is stupid. But -- is it possible that everything in this town is strategically placed for maximum frustration and total boredom? Because I’d definitely buy that. Lima could only be this lame if someone was behind the poorly painted scenes playing God, and there’s basically no other explanation.

Anyway - I’m gonna with no. Unless you’re the one digging potholes...? I mean, Hummel tires is the only shop in town, Hudson, and you’re the only people who stand to gain from roads that look like swiss cheese, right?  This could almost be considered self-incrimination.

Well, my advice? Stay far away from the house for, like, as long as you can - I mean, unless you feel like doing yardwork with all of your free time. Daddy’s been on a freakin’ warpath since the HOA dropped off a complaint about our hedge height. He seriously to make me learn how to use a weed whacker yesterday - a weed whacker. I think he’s actually losing it this time. 

...On second thought, please come over. Maybe he’ll leave me alone if he’s got you there to boss around.

There’s nothing like finding homemade slime in your hair while you’re eating dinner, and if there’s slime in there, that means I will no doubt be finding even more glitter around my apartment for weeks. All from a little arts and crafts at the daycare today.

Woof. Slime is like the last thing that belongs in the hands of children. It’s gooey, it’s gross, and it’s way too easy to throw across a room. 

And that’s why exactly why I wear a smock whenever I’m hanging out with Wolfie’s spawn! Poet is a total cutie, but I’m so not going to get caught in the vicinity of paint splatter, like, ever again.

𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄: Rosalita’s Roadhouse

Weekdays were pretty dead at the Roadhouse. There were always drunks who seemed to flock during the week and teens who’s come in to utilize the karaoke machine and mechanical bull, but other than that, the night’s were pretty dull to get through. Luckily, Maisie had her own very Lima Loser charm to wow her patrons for the night. One of the perks of a dead night meant Maisie was able to DJ for the night and take a break from the country nonsense for a bit (until some hick would eventually play a Garth Brooks song on the Jukebox). Blondie’s Call Me blaring through the speakers, Maisie danced her way along the counter, cleaning rag in hand as she noticed someone sitting down in front of her. “Well, well, well,” she started, dramatically tossing the wag over her shoulder and folding her arms down on the bar, leaning over before she asked in a low, deep voice that was clearly meant as a joke, “hard day?” Seeing as her joke didn’t really land, Maisie offered a softer smile and leaned up. “C’mon champ, what’ll it be? I will say though, I do make the best whiskey sours in town.”

Bunny had to admit that it was a relief not be assaulted by the sound of country music as she made her way toward the bar at the roadhouse, but even the absence of Garth Brooks over the sound system wasn’t enough to keep her from wincing. Maisie did her best to keep things upbeat - it was admirable, at least - but Bunny was all too tired of Lima and it’s many... attractions. “Long day. Boring day.” Bunny responded without missing a beat; a long sigh falling from her glossed lips as she saddled up to the bar. Blonde hair flipping behind her shoulder while green eyes studied the liquor stacked in the shelves behind the other woman. “I don’t care what you bring me, just tell me it’s going to keep me from losing my mind in Ohio. I’d so much rather have my first mental break in somewhere glamorous, like - Milan,” She paused. “Or Maybe Tokyo.”
