Hey there! We're Bunnybugs.

This is our blog to share our plural thoughts and experiences.

We are an endogenic (and autigenic*) system with five known headmates: Hornet (🕷️), Caleb (🐇), Nola (☘️), Emmy (💘), and Jack (📔). While many of us have our own separate blogs, we'll be using this space as a hub for posts regarding our systemhood and the ways we interact with each other.

We're a fairly recently discovered system, and pretty much all of our info is subject to change.

It probably goes without saying, but anti-endos most likely won't want to interact with us. We don't have an official dni, but please at least be respectful about it if you don't think we're valid. We're just trying to get by.

(*Autigenic, as we're using the term, means that our plurality is very closely tied to our collective autism diagnosis. We're unsure if our autism is actually the reason we formed, or if these two disorders simply go hand in hand, but we know that we wouldn't exist the way we currently do if we weren't also autistic.)

This is our current script for coming out to our friend. We're going to do it over text tomorrow (if we don't chicken out), and we find it easier to write things like this down first so we can perfect them before sending them. We hope it'll go over okay. We've decided to ease him into it slowly like this, rather than throwing terms like "endogenic autigenic system with two fictives and a nonhuman syskid" at him and potentially overwhelming him if he doesn't know what they mean. We still doubt our plurality every now and then. But it's gotten to the point that with all the weirdness happening in our brain that we've literally been able to consistently document, being a system is actually the least weird explanation for what's going on with us.

I mean, what's more likely?

That we're a singlet who for some reason made up a lie about being five people sharing one brain, committed so hard that we started believing it, and have been mentally roleplaying as our OCs nonstop for months on end without getting bored of it, telling anyone in real life, or becoming inconsistent with our stories?

Or that we act like a system because we are a system?

Because if the former was true, I think that would actually indicate we have something way, way harder to explain than plurality.

Hornet and I are the two biggest supporters of the coming-out idea, but I think it's for different reasons. She's struggling to keep the secret from our friends and would feel better if we didn't have to hide, while I just feel so much love for plurality and my headmates that it seems like a pity to keep it bottled up.

Caleb is neutral. He doesn't feel much pull to tell people, but he likes the idea of being seen as himself. I think in his eyes, the rest of us and his source-memory-friends are the only relationships he needs to be fulfilled. He loves our friends, but I think he's happiest in his own world in our mind, and he's probably worried about Hornet and Emmy too.

Nola is neutral too, probably because it's the best at just not caring what people think. It never felt much pull to come out as a therian before our syscovery, either. I think they want to find community of some sort, but they'd rather do so through a fresh start with new plural or ally friends than trying to win over the people already in our life.

Emmy seems to be the most apprehensive. Hornet is the headmate who lets her social nervousness show the most through posting, while Emmy doesn't even put their fears online a lot of the time, even though Emmy is probably the most prone to social anxiety and self-doubt. Our relationships with others, however strained they can get, are really important to Emmy, and she's very used to keeping secrets about herself and the rest of us to make sure we're well-liked. Plurality is just one of those secrets she takes charge of hiding during conversations, and since she's already committed to keeping it, it'll probably be really difficult to convince her not to panic at the thought of telling the truth.

That last part is interesting, because Emmy and I usually agree on so many counts. It's sometimes to the point that I worry we could merge or start to confuse ourselves with each other. Our approach to sharing our plurality, though, is one thing we don't see eye to eye on at all. My view of Emmy and I as two sides of the same coin, having originally formed as halves of one mind, is still accurate in my eyes. But I think the main difference between us is that the same traits which I want to share and relate to others through, she wants to bury and keep to her chest.

The silliest thing about being a Nice Cream Guy fictive is the sense of personal pride I experience whenever someone talks about speedrunning with the Punch Card Skip. Like I realize I didn't program the game or whatever, but some part of me still goes "Oh, you like that item? :) It's helpful? :) You're trying to find it as fast as you can whenever you play? :) The item I sell you? :) The undertale speedrun community wouldn't be what it is if I didn't exist? :)"

Back before I knew I was a fictive and thought I was just our favorite character, I would actually cure bad moods by going and watching speedrun tutorials just to hear them talk, however tangentially, about how important I was. I'm so embarrassed about it looking back, how didn't I realize sooner?

We tried instagram and so far every comment section is full of homophobic, transphobic, fatphobic, ableist, miserable people trying to be funny with old gifs. Not sure we're seeing the appeal yet

we came out to a singlet friend once! and it went well. most of the time, if theyre truly a good friend, theyll understand

first i asked them if they knew abt did. and while i didnt ask endo stances, im sure u could ask if they know of them also. and thats kinda like testing the waters to see if theyre receptive/if they seem chill w it. after that if u deem it safe u can come out :]

We want to come out as plural to one of our friends. But we're scared. We're really, really scared. If they don't understand, or if they think we're too much to handle, we would lose one of the only people we're close to anymore. They've never indicated any stance on endos or on plurality in general. What if their reaction is to fakeclaim us, or just to quietly drift away and ghost us? What if they tell our mutual friends about it?

The idea of having an irl friend that actually knows about us is beautiful, but the concept of risking it all by telling them is terrifying.

Does anyone have any experience with coming out to singlet friends? Is there anything that might help us do so more effectively?

I'm tired of being nice about this!! I love my headmates and I will never, EVER pretend otherwise!!

I think the number of people that recognized me put me in such a good mood that I accidentally spent over 150 dollars on undertale and hollow knight merch ._.

On the bright side, I now have lots of pretty stickers of Hornet, an Undertale poster, a gorgeous replica needle for Hornet, and a protogen plushie!!

Hornet's gonna be so happy about her needle, I could feel her perk up in headspace the second I picked it up and I knew I had to buy it for her. We already have one that we made ourselves, but it's a lot more cumbersome and not as game-accurate, so I can tell she'll prefer this one.

I didn't have time to make my Burgy plush, which is a shame. I'll start working on it at home, though, and I'll have it ready for the next con! Luckily plenty of people have recognized me even without him. I was expecting to feel so awkward explaining myself, but the people who point out who I am seem to be happy to see it, and the people who don't recognize me don't pay me any mind.

I'm going to a con with my friends next weekend, and it looks like I'll get to publicly cosplay myself sooner than I thought!!

Hornet's done it before, but that was for school and halloween. She says it was really amazing getting to be seen and recognized as her real self, and I remember how happy she got every time someone said "Hey look, it's Hornet!" that night. But at the same time, I know she was different, because she's a super popular and recognizable protagonist.

We went as Ralsei to this same con a year ago. It was really really fun, because all the other deltarune cosplayers would point us out and take pictures with us! Again, though: this is going to be different. People will know who I am as a character. But I doubt they'll recognize me, or if they do, they'll probably just privately be wondering why someone would dress as me.

I can only hope that the recent Nicepants popularity boom after chapter 4 will help justify it. That's also why I'm hoping to have my burgy plush done in time to bring him with me: So it looks like I'm just someone interested in the ship, rather than someone so invested in this random npc.

My headmates tell me I shouldn't be so worried about what other people think of me. I want to believe they're right. But I'm still sort of terrified.

Honestly? If even one person comes up to me with a smile and says "No way, are you dressed as the nice cream bunny?" or something, it would make my entire week. :P

(also this is such a long shot but if there are any utdr fictionfolk who are gonna be at fan expo denver... bigs my eyes at you)
