Hello if you're still up for headcanon request! I want to request anita navarro from toufuu ikokukan!
OMG HELLO!!!! SORRY FOR THE WAIT BUT YESSSSS ANITA!!! I'll gladly talk about her with ya!!! 🧡
(Disclaimer as always: The blogger doesn’t have VR, I’m basing myself off existing gameplay + other info, yadda yadda. Plus I might mention VR spoilers, so please be careful.)
Okay......... So.......... To start, let's revive an old topic, or at least summarize it: When she was first revealed, I pretty much went crazy as she looked very, VEEEERY similar to Querardo in so many ways, to the point she could be easily his daughter. Needless to say I was super enthusiastic about it, my head was exploding with theories and ideas, and I was SO in love with the surprise of Querardo being a girldad......... Till they revealed she was Anita NAVARRO. HUH???????
Now, if you were curious to see what my arguments were for this headcanon overall, I decided to make this little image.
...THOUGH, I do still hold one "Plan B" as to still tie her up to the Naval family as a whole. I'll elaborate down below.....
Another last theory to bring up is that alternatively, Anita's father could be The Empire player Hernan Tevez, who also has a similar hair like her; the biggest difference is that it's less spiky and his shoulder tuffs are actually ponytails.
There's also other thing I'm thorn on, and it's on her nationality... I really like the idea of her being Spanish and/or Argentinian because of the reasons above. There's a part of that wishes she could be from any other spanish-speaking country just for originality's sake, but knowing L5, only 🇦🇷🇪🇸 exist in the IE world (????)
So for now, all my HCs are based off her being Spanish. Keep on mind that the ending of VR HEAVILY hints at an upcoming FFI arc, so there's always a chance we might get more info on Anita's background (Or not) in the future. Nonetheless, I'll show you what I have so far:
Anita's father is Gonçal Naval, pretty much Querardo's youngest uncle. Unlike his brothers he is more neutral on the bullfighting side of the family, choosing to not attend events himself except on very special occasions. Hell, he's not even present much on their hometown. To make things more "interesting", at some point he met with Susana Navarro, a female football coach from Argentina who installed herself on Spain due to work. Aaaand this is where Anita comes from!
And yes, her surname comes from her mother! It seems to be a family tradition atp. 🫠
Despite the birth of her child, Susana never abandoned her career, and eventually took her family with her as she trained teams across Spain AND the world. So, for a long time, Anita's earlier years would be a constant cycle of moving in and out in different places.
At first, Anita didn't have it hard to adapt. She was a surprisingly quick learner when it came to languages, and had it easy to befriend new people. However, and specially around the start of the teen years, the constant changing of places did take its toll on Anita, often affecting her own identity and goals for the future. She soon started to hope there was a way she could stay somewhere longer...
Aaaaaand that's where Toufuu Ikokukan's Foreign Students program came in, a proposal that became very popularized by social media. Many of the children put on this program came from popular figures in soccer, and Anita wouldn't be the exception. Though, it was her who had the idea to join in!
So after the paperwork was done and Anita was accepted, she was now ready to... Be a manager! Although she liked to play once in a while, Navarro preferred to spectate and support from the sidelines. Her knowledge of other languages and previous cultural consciousness was a key on helping the team stick together, and Touyou has appreciated her help many times!
Personality wise, she's like the "cool older sister" of the team. Something like this, maybe?
(Well, maybe not "older" literally since her and most of TI are 2nd year, but I hope you're getting my point. I just really like Anita being close with all the other gals 🙏)
I plan to develop the "will the Toufuu players leave for the FFI or not?" question later (Thank you to the user who asked about it!), BUT I'd like to answer it for Anita rn: To put it simply, no, she's staying 100%. While she is a fan of her country's football and all, her attachment to Toufuu is what's keeping her in Japan, even if the team has separated due to that "darn tournament".
(Plus, although her visits to Spain are brief, she's 100% confident that the other kids of the Naval family are going to do well enough without her....)
Also, I know it's too """"early"""" to have ships on VR (Or at least I don't feel 100% confident on my HCs so far), but I secretly like Martino/Anita. IDK. My inspiration literally came from seeing them placed together twice, but even then I find something interesting within these two; specially knowing Anita might have some keeper skills herself...........
........................I also have a crack ship of her with Hoshi Mikana. Dunno why...
