Born to Ethan Hendrix the actor, and runway model Kate Alexander, Bunny Love is the youngest of three children. Without a doubt she was spoiled rotten and besotted by her parents throughout her childhood. Bunny wanted a pony? Bunny got a pony. Her parents had no issue fulfilling her every material desire. Despite being from famous parentage, Ethan and Kate kept their children out of the spotlight, keeping their lives private. Bunny attended prep school, always maintaining good grades and practically ruling the school. She was the golden girl, at least on the outside.

Her mother started buying her clothes a size too small when Bunny was fifteen and a half, ridding her closet of all of her clothing that had been tailored to fit her perfectly. She had been gaining weight, her mother claimed, she hadn’t lost her baby fat and it was nearly time for her sweet sixteen. Her mother told her she needed to pull herself together and focus on how other people viewed her, viewed their family. Her parents got her a pink car for her birthday. She fit into the dress her mother picked out for her.

But she couldn’t keep it up forever. When Bunny was sixteen she was hospitalised for malnutrition and went through a year of rehab for anorexia. She missed the second half of her sophomore year, but the mystery surrounding her disappearance and the subsequent attention delighted her.

Bunny officially became queen bee when she returned for her junior year of high school, and she’s never looked back. She had her first modelling campaign at eighteen years old, right after she graduated high school. She decided to forgo a business degree once the ad campaigns started pouring in. Since then she has taken Tik Tok, Instagram, and the fashion industry by storm.

On the outside Bunny is extremely sure of herself and well put together. But all is not well beneath the surface. Bunny suffers extreme pressure from her family, from her parents as well as her exceptional older siblings who have never seemed to have the same issues as she has. She’s never been able to understand why she’s never quite enough to them. This bleeds into her self esteem, giving her a strong case of imposter syndrome and even plain loss of her own identity outside the shadow of what she’s meant to be. In edition, she never quite feels worthy of her success due to her family’s influence.

Gossip hungry, catty, judgemental, calculated ( well, calculated, that part was true) - but she derived not an ounce of pleasure as her phone vibrated with text after text of dirt in the chat. Guests gathered, all looking at their phones and at each other, mouths agape like fish without water. Her vision blurred, dark eyes already glazing with tears as the blue light shone against her face. Her champagne flute was clutched tightly in her hand, bubbles fizzing as it shook. We’re they fucking saving her for last or something? Voices were rising in arguments as the message finally appeared on her screen. Couldn't make it big yourself so you just had daddy do it for you, hmm, Bunny Hendrix?  Don't let her fool you, her father paid for her first editorial! 

“NO!” Bunny gasped, dropping her glass, holding her phone with both hands tightly. “No, that isn’t true! I wouldn’t--, I’d never--...e-everything, everything I have gotten has been on my own!” Bunny didn’t even know who she was shouting at, wide eyes still glued to her screen. Of all the things they could have scraped up on her, this fabrication was somehow the worst. She had to call Vanity Fair, they had to make a statement. She had to call her agent, her father-- no. She couldn’t even breathe, much less focus on regaining control. Bunny dropped both hands to her sides, taking deep harsh breaths. “Who...Who did this?” She choked out, turning around to look at anyone around her.

The grip on his arm that his sister held made him shift uncomfortably. He could feel her nails begin to dig into his skin, which could only mean she was heated about something. It wasn’t difficult to guess what he could have done to have caused her an upset; in fact, it was pretty obvious it had to do with his date selection for the evening. Allowing her to steal him away, curious hues watched and waited for her to erupt like a volatile volcano. Fortunately they were out of earshot from his date and friends before their conversation could ensue. “What—you mean you don’t like her?” he replied boldly, ignoring the hissing in her tone. Luke wanted to have fun that night and considering what a shit-show his life had been due to his divorce, he felt he owed himself a little treat. 

Hands moved to his hips and his stance became more rigid as she continued her rant. “Embarrassed? Why on earth are you embarrassed? She’s actually two years younger than you. A ripe twenty-three,” he mentioned in an almost bragging tone. He was aware of the age difference between him and Azalea but it didn’t change that they were two consenting adults wanting to enjoy a night out at a charity event together. What was the harm in that? “Now who’s fault is that, Bunny? If you wanted a date you could have easily found one. Don’t project your insecurities on me. I’m just here trying to have a good time. Besides, I think you’re the only one pitching a fit over it.” His shoulders rolled back into a shrug as if to brush it off. He didn’t know why she attended alone, nor would he meddle since they were no longer children needing to be scolded. “Come and relax. I can introduce you two. You might actually like her,” he said in hopes of placating her, even if only momentarily. The last thing either of them needed was a public scene.

Luke’s off-handedness and cavalier attitude was something she had anticipated, but it infuriated her all the same. It always did. It made her feel like a hysterical female - even if maybe she was being one at the moment. It might not be a big deal to him, but if Bunny pulled something like this her family would never let her hear the end of it. It wasn’t fair that he wasn’t held to the same standards. “It has nothing to do with her!” She snapped back automatically, finally releasing her grip on his arm, feebly hoping her fingernails made a small mark. Dark eyes narrowed as Luke adjusted his stance, still impossibly tall as she stood in her velvet Dior heels. Always so stupidly tall. Whoever the girl was wasn’t any of Bunny’s concern - it was her mere presence on Luke’s arm that disturbed the older woman. And even that fact she blamed on none other than her big brother. Fair’s fair.

“I’m going to throw up.” Bunny replied quickly, an empty threat. As if she’d ever do something so undignified on purpose. But she almost felt like she might, the information spinning through her mind at frenzied pace. “23? Are you out of your mind?” Her hissing tone was back, to keep something a lot louder buried underneath. She wasn’t going to cause a scene. She was not going to cause a scene. “Insecurities?” Bunny scoffed, taking a step back from him. It felt like a knife to the gut. Anger made way for pure bitterness, heat flooding her cheeks beneath her mask. He had no idea what it was like being her. He had no idea why or how she had ended up on her own this evening, whisper screaming at her brother in a corner of the ball. “Insecurities?” She repeated, tone rising in octave, now unable to stop the laugh from rising from her throat. “You look like you’re having a goddamn midlife crisis.” Her tone returned nearly to normal, a cold edge to her slow words. “And it’s my job, apparently, to talk some sense into you before mom and dad give you an earful when they see the pictures of you two.” Bunny spoke slowly, hands smoothing her long platinum hair to try to soothe herself. Another scoff filled the air between them. “I can introduce myself to your sugar baby, thank you.”

“Mmm,” Bunny nodded in agreement, taking in the hoop skirts and gilded masks that surrounded them. Ballgowns in gaudy colors, spinning in technicolor. Bunny could always tell the difference between new money and old, and it was all she could notice in the crowded hall. “Even I know there’s such thing as doing too much.” There was no filter from the cattiness inside her brain when she was with Camila. It was a judgement free zone between the two women, just them against the world. She herself was dressed a bit understated, opting for a slinky emerald gown rather than her usual pink ruffles. Despite her rabbit mask, Bunny really intended to lay low tonight. She had come unchaperoned, a faux pas that her mother would surely have a tight three paragraphed letter scorning her for in Bunny’s mailbox on Monday morning. She was only there to support her friends, and perhaps some free champagne. 

Bunny’s skin began to itch as Cami spoke, her nerves suddenly more alert. It did feel claustrophobic, and a number of people had spoken to her that evening that she simply could not place, mask or not. They weren’t all patrons, that was for sure. “What do you think is going to happen?” She asked softly, weariness seeping into her tone. She let the question fall, lost in the swelling music and chattering voices. “Yes. Yes, we’re doing that.” The blonde confirmed with a decisive nod of her head. “We’re getting drunk.” She giggled, finally seeing a real upside to the evening. Taking Cami’s hand she began to wander through the rabble.

Bunny giggled, a gloved hand coming to rest on her brother’s arm. Her smile was tight but radiant, her mask matching her namesake. She gripped him, maybe a little too hard, clearing her throat for the gathered crowd he was engaged in conversation with. “Excuse me, do you mind if I borrow my lovely brother for a moment?” The blonde didn’t wait for an answer, tugging Luke away before anyone could object. 

Winding their way through the throngs of partygoers, Bunny finally found a somewhat secluded area for them to speak. “I’m sorry--” She began, agast, furiously whispering. “Where did you meet your date? Picking your kids up from school?” Bunny hissed, eyelashes brushing against her mask as she blinked rapidly at him. “She looks younger than me.” Her eyes turned from him only to quickly check they weren’t being overheard. Hopefully if anyone did, the masks would do their job and they wouldn’t be able to put a name to their faces. Fingertips brushed her waist length hair from her shoulder. “Do you know how embarrassing...” Cut off mid huff, Bunny stomped her foot with a small gesture. Not big enough to be seen beneath her long emerald skirt. She couldn’t believe he would pull such a stunt - she could’t believe she hadn’t seen it coming. And fuck, she just didn’t want to be there. The pressure was cracking. “I came here alone!”

“Uh-huh.” Nate nodded along as he carefully picked up one of the sushi pieces, taking his time to eat it. He wasn’t big on restaurants, and the reason was painfully simple; he had no money. Why would he spend all the money he had for weekly shopping on a single meal? But he could make exception to that rule, and when it came to Bunny, that was definitely worth it. He had found a friend in one of the most unlikely places, and yet, he appreciated her more and more with each passing day.

“I was waiting for that but.” He smiled at her lightly, eating another piece afterwards. She worried about it, and it was sweet of her, and in a way, she was absolutely right. He couldn’t just go to Kal or Rylan to talk about it, like he usually did, because this involved them more than anything else. Who else he could talk to who wouldn’t immediately take someone else’s side but his? It was selfish, because he knew he was in the wrong, but he wanted that support nevertheless. “You can’t tell about this to anyone, okay? It’s not just because of me being an absolute asshole. Cause I kind of screwed up. Big time. And it involves a lot of people I care for, and… I don’t know how to go about it.”

Bunny wanted to pay, but she knew Nate would insist. It made her feel a little better about indulging, dipping piece after piece in soy sauce and chewing delicately. She was willing to be patient, to let him stall. And Bunny was not a patient person by nature. Quite the opposite, really. Still, she chewed and sipped at her tea, letting the silence drag for a moment. Nate was a true and fast friend, someone she liked to think she could go to if she had a problem. And she wanted to try to be steady like that for someone else, too. Even if it made her want to tap her heels on the tiled floor.

“Look,” She offered, setting down her chop sticks and resting her elbow on the table to present him her pinky finger. “I take these very seriously, Nathaniel. I pinky swear I won’t tell. It’ll be between us.” As for where to start...well,” Bunny inhaled, tilting her head. “Just start at the beginning. Tell it to me as you remember it, like a story. Just tell me like it’s a story. It’ll add some perspective, I think?” Was Bunny being wise? Hmm, that was new.

Needing to check up on his sister after some time of silence due to his hectic work schedule ( among other things) he skipped out of work early that day to meet Bunny at one of their joint, favorite places in the city; The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Checking his watch he waited on the famous steps where the popular series, Gossip Girl, had filmed some of their ironic school scenes. He had never watched the show but he remembered his sister talking about it a time or two with friends.

It was rather chilly that day and Luke found himself popping up the collar on his Burberry coat to help cut the wind from freezing his neck. He was right on time and so he continued to wait until he captured sight of her blonde hair whisking in the wind his way. “Good to see you, sister,” his tall frame leaned down to brush a kiss to her cheek in greeting. “Let’s go inside before I freeze to death,” he smiled despite the truth to his words. It felt like 0 degrees that day with the wind chill bringing it to negative digits.

Once upon a time Bunny had tried to replicate Blair Wolfdorf’s stair move with her own clique. In reality, other teenagers weren’t awake early enough to eat breakfast all the way at the Met. Her school was a little too far to walk there for lunch. She’d only managed it a couple of times, satisfied after the paparazzi took photos of her once. Her heels clicked against the same stones now, walking gingerly, bundled in her long coat. Bunny hadn’t seen her brother since Christmas, really, and they weren’t the type to talk outside of family group chats or phone calls. They were busy people, all of the Hendrix’s.

She brushed a blonde curl from her cheek as she made it to Luke, smiling as he kissed her cheek. “Brother,” She returned politely. She could only nod at his request, teeth chattering a little as she shivered from the wind. “Please, I think I have hypotherima.” Bunny joked as she led the way inside. “How’s the business?”

Rylan heard Bunny’s voice and instantly the muscles in her neck tensed, it wasn’t a deliberate reaction but more a reflex, making her jaw tighten. Was this going to be a meeting where the two of them were at each others throats, or would they play nicely? It was impossible to know so soon, but one thing was for sure, it could go either way when it came to the adversaries. Turning around she rested her eyes on the admittedly stunning blonde. She was delicate in her features in a way Rylan envied, like a little woodland fairy, it sometimes made people wonder why they were so competitive because it was hardly like they were offering the same look to the world of fashion.

“And you, you look lovely.” A deliberate look up and down her outfit, a flick of the eyes while the rest of her face stayed exactly the same. This type of model bitch stereotype wasn’t who Rylan was and yet whenever she was around others of the same profession it seemed all too easy to slip into. Taking a sip of the vodka soda in her left hand she shook her head. Knowing full well Bunny was fishing for some kind of gossip about her emotional life but not having anything to give. Neither Kal nor Nate had accompanied her that night. In fact she’d not even wanted to come but at the last second decided it was probably a more entertaining option than staying in on her sofa all night watching reruns in her sweatpants. At least here there was an open bar. She was rich but she was also very good at being cheap as hell. “Nope, not tonight, I’m flying solo. Kal is rehearsing for opening night after all, none of the company need a distraction from that right now.” A simple way of including Nate in the explanation without explicitly saying him by name, smiling smoothly again. “I do, I do know what you mean. Who did you come with then? If it wasn’t your thing it seems like a risk to even entertain the idea of him running off to a more attractive entertainment option.” She didn’t add that she didn’t blame him, but her expression heavily implied it as she smirked innocently at Bunny.

“Thank you.” Bunny chirped in a tone that seemed to imply I know. While the comment may have been in ingenuine, it was accurate as far as she was concerned. Plus, Bunny always happily accepted praise no matter the situation. She wasn’t out for blood tonight, hadn’t even expected to see Rylan that night. And as it stood, she didn’t dislike Rylan per say, but she did know how to ruffle feathers. Deep down she couldn’t stop the obsessive thought that Rylan might just be better than her, and money and famous parents couldn’t change that. As someone who’s entire self image came from her appearance and profession (being admired, that is) this was...treacherous. She couldn’t afford to slip. She knew if she was a different girl with a different mother, maybe she and Rylan could even be friends.

But that was definitely not the case. “Of course, so silly of me. Certainly better things on his mind than a little party. I’m sure any distraction is detrimental.” She chatted, the picture of a young socialite. At Rylan’s next comment - or question rather, Bunny smiled tightly. It was a fair question, but a sore spot. Bunny was still reeling from her breakup and perceived fall from social grace. And great, she’d have to reveal some of her personal life to Rylan. “I’m doing my father a favour. A family friend’s son, just moved here from California. He’s an actor. Which...” She trailed off, licking her teeth and trying to keep the destain for him from her face. “He’s talented, up and coming...but as you can tell, a little hedonistic.” He wasn’t focused on his career or status, and for that very reason he was absolutely not an eligible match for her. “But he’s pretty. And he’ll be back, just a little more...lively than before, perhaps. And i’d like to think I fair pretty well on my own. Don’t you, Rylan?” The corner of a smirk was hidden as she took a sip from her glass.
