(In hindsight, this fits with Bob not knowing about Larry’s brothers. Since Bob wasn’t involved in making Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed, he didn’t meet Larry’s nephew and therefore wouldn’t have known about or met Larry’s brothers at this time.)

This comment on a vid of the Papageno-Papagena Duet seems like it would fit Larry and Petunia.

Now, bear in mind, Larry likes chickens (and Papageno and Papagena dress like birds). So, Archibald has the idea for them to perform comedic numbers from famous operas — mixing silliness with culture — and Larry and Petunia dress up as chickens and are “bawking” along to the melody of the Papageno-Papagena Duet.

With “Mr. Ring-A-Ding Goes to Town” seemingly based on/inspired by Mr. Bug Goes to Town, does that mean the former is an in-universe parody of the latter?

In which case, would the plot of the cartoon short have followed the beats of the film? Would a rich guy like C. Bagley Beetle have tried to force Sunshine Sally to marry him, causing Mr. Ring-A-Ding to find a humorous way to defeat his romantic rival and win Sally’s heart? Food for thought.
