The door used for a New York City jewelry designer in her home was located in a Greenwich Village antique shop, and while the trompe l'oeil has not been dated, it is, she says, "at least fifty years old." The quiet folk art imagery of the still life on the illusionistic shelves is juxtaposed by the whimsical entrance of the cat from the cupboard d door below.
