hey its been a while but i just watched the final episode of sofia the first (blindly, btw. Didn't watch most of the new seasons)

and I have one question:

did James refuse the crown???

Early seasons implies that James is the first heir to the throne despite being the younger twin but it seems like he's taken the role of being a knight, and therefore giving the crown to amber (which is heavily hinted throughout the movie).

Is there any episode where they discuss this? Genuinely curious on how they decided on it
