1. You control your thoughts; your thoughts do not control you. Repeat that as many times as it takes for you to believe in its validity. 2. Roll up your sleeves, do not be afraid to get your hands dirty. Self-care takes a lot of time and effort. The mind is deceptive, your anxiety is sly and cunning, so you must be diligent, you must be watchful, and you must constantly and aggressively tend to your thoughts. 3. Please understand that you are not bound to believe everything they say about you. You are not bound to blossom into their stereotypes. You are not confined to their image of you. Know that you have the ability to uproot the negative thoughts you have been made to believe about yourself. What you think about yourself is what you will embody so plant new thoughts, grow yourself from the mind up. 4. Find the courage to talk about your mental health. Even when people don’t understand, keep talking. You will find people who will listen to you. You will find people who will understand you. You will also discover that you are not alone, that you have never been alone. 5. Forgive. Forgiveness is the only sure way to kill the monsters that are hunting the halls of your memory. It may be difficult but it is necessary. 6. Work diligently on your sleeping habits. A restless mind is a breeding ground for anxiety. 7. Indulge in something that makes you laugh from your belly. 8. Do that thing that you have always been afraid to do. It will help you see your anxiety for what it really is, a fabrication. You have always been capable of doing what you anxiety told you couldn’t. 9. Refuse to give up. Never make defeat an option. 10. Commit daily to fighting for your mental health. Commit daily to standing up for yourself. You are worthy and deserving of living your best life.
