I found out you were engaged yesterday. Such a strange feeling, after all those years when we were young, thinking it would be me. Us. I close my eyes and see you laughing, I rest my head on your chest while we watch TV on the futon, I stir a risotto rigorously on your old, electric stove.
I had forgotten what it felt like to be buoyant. To watch you sip a forty while leaning against a doorframe. To have you gently wake me up, offering a cup of coffee to avoid my early morning disposition.
I hope you are very happy. I have always missed you very much.
