And to Burning Spice Cookie, people have been theorizing that you have a son named Capsaicin Cookie, is that true?

A… familiar cookie walked through the Vanilla Kingdom. Appearance-wise he was a near copy of Pure Vanilla. Albeit, with a few color alterations, but he had the same heterochromatic eyes, a star shaped mark on his forehead, he even carried an orchid staff. Yet… the menacing aura around him left no room for mistake: this cookie was not Pure Vanilla.

Dark Sorcerer wandered the streets of this strange new place. He had just been in his lab. Then, without so much as a blink, he found himself… wherever this was. It wasn’t his fortress, that much was obvious. In fact, it didn’t appear to be anywhere nearby either. If anything, the purple-roofed homes and rolling grassy pastures resembled the villages of his childhood. Though, said humble little villages never had anything nearly as grand as the smooth white towers adorning the larger buildings and they certainly never had a literal castle.

OOC: So, Dark Sorcerer will be here for a bit, he's from an au of mine. I'd say be nice to him, but you really don't have to (he certainly doesn't deserve it lol). “Golden! Spice!” [Toffee emerges from the portal with…is that a child?!] “Hi! I’m back! I brought my charge!”

[The green child on Toffee’s back peeks over her shoulder, big black eyes with seafoam green pupils glancing around.] “…hi.”

Both Golden Cheese and Burning Spice turn, already lighting up at seeing Toffee Apple again. Burning Spice squints at the little green thing in Toffee Apple's arms, and when it talks, his eyes go wide and he grimaces.

Golden Cheese, meanwhile, immediately flies closer to check out the new arrival, bending over slightly to coo and awe over the teeny thing in Toffee Apple's arms. "Oh, aren't you just the most adorable little creature~! Simply darling..." If Golden Cheese didn't know any better, she'd be pinching cheeks. Instead, she's ruffling hair, just a little. "My, my, what a gorgeous little thing you are... I'm getting the urge to spoil this one," she comments, looking up at Toffee Apple with a coy smirk.

Burning Spice is the second to approach, trying to mask his increasing discomfort. Is that a baby dragon? Where did this child get a baby dragon?? Is it hostile?? If that thing has ever hurt Toffee Apple, I swear—

[The dragon blinks up at the two (quite frankly MUCH LARGER) figures, very confused but also happy. They giggle, doing grabby hands.]

“This is Dragonfly Cookie! They happened to hatch when I came across them in a cave in Dragon Valley…kinda imprinted on me, I guess?” [Toffee explains, setting them down on the ground.] “I had to bring them with me today, since I couldn’t get a sitter and their daycare is closed.”

[Upon being placed on the floor, Dragonfly scuttles over to stand in front of the two other cookies, waving with a sharp-toothed grin.]

“They tend to get fussy when I’m gone for too long anyway. You should’ve seen them when they first hatched! …also don’t spoil them too much please…”

[Dragonfly reaches up and points at Toffee, glaring slightly,] “…mama.” [It’s as if to say, “Hurt my mama and I’ll crumble you”.]

Baby is IMMEDIATELY picked up by Golden Cheese. "Hello, little one... my name is Golden Cheese Cookie. My subjects call me Queen, or Their Radiance... but you, my little treasure, can call me Grandmama Cheese, if that's easier." Simply by existing, Dragonfly Cookie has earned themself a boop. Golden Cheese holds them out to Burning Spice to see. "This big red brute is my other half, Burning Spice Cookie. He may look scary, but he's just a big old softie," Golden Cheese retracts the child, holding them proper so that they can look around better. "Isn't he? Doesn't that hair look so soft?"

"Ha, ha, Golden Cheese Cookie," Burning Spice grumbles, unamused by everything except the latent protectiveness in such a small Cookie. Something they might have in common, besides the sharp teeth. Since Golden Cheese is preoccupied, he opts to converse with Toffee Apple, turning and walking over to her. "Have you been well, little one?"

“Ah, yeah, pretty well! Well…aside from my wings…” [Toffee rubs the back of her neck, smiling awkwardly.] “I’ve needed to preen them, but Dragonfly and the others don’t know how…that’s kind of why I’m here.”

[She quickly transforms into her awakened form, and— oh yeah, those are BAD— how has she been flying?!]

“…yeaaaahhhhh…”

[Dragonfly’s wings flutter, tail swishing slightly at the boop. They stare at Golden Cheese for a few minutes, finding their words. Then…]

“Ganma and Gampa?”

[Toffee looks over, beaming. That’s her baby! And her baby loves her parental figures!!!]

He's preened Golden Cheese's wings enough times—and also, promptly ripped them off of her, that one time—to know when feathers are in a bad state of care. He grimaces again, sparing a glance toward Golden Cheese.

"Would you... like some help with that?" He offers.

Golden Cheese's proud beaming at her grandchild-assigned nickname is interrupted by the sound of child needing help, striding over to see what's the matter.

"What-? Help with—OH MY CHEESES!!"

Baby is promptly thrust into the arms of Ganpa as Golden Cheese looks over Toffee Apple's poor wings. "My treasure, you simply MUST preen these more often!! Oh, your poor pinfeathers must be suffocating! Sit, sit!" An attendant slides two pillows onto the floor for them. "You sit, and let me do all the work. Chirp at me if it hurts, alright? We're preening these, now."

Burning Spice looks down at the child in his arms. Hello creature. We're going to be here a while.

[Toffee stares down at her feet with an awkward expression.] “I haven’t really had the time! And like I said, my friends don’t really…know….how…” [She kneels on the pillow, folding her hands in her lap.] “I appreciate it…stay safe, you two!” [she calls out to Dragonfly and Spice.]

[Dragonfly blinks up at Spice for a few moments…then grins. In a small poof, the cookie form becomes a full-on dragon!]

“Gampa! Play!” [They leap out of his arms, pulling on his dhoti, away from the other two.] “Play!”

"Well, of course, my treasure. Do you think I would be so careless as to add dust to my collection? My dear, you have to take care of yourself. That is the greatest gift you could give to me. Now, tell me if I prick you, darling. Or if the sensation gets to be too much. There's enough here to make down for at least a few pillows..." Golden Cheese pats Toffee Apple's head, teasing her lightly as she starts to pluck feathers.

Burning Spice blinks, letting the fledgeling slip carefully from his arms. So this WAS a baby dragon... interesting. He crosses his arms and tilts his head, looking down at Dragonfly. "Oh? You wish to play, little one? Tell me, what's your favorite game?"

[There’s a couple squeaks at the headpats. While preening, Toffee can be heard softly…purring? She knows she is, judging by the slightly bashful look, but she can’t seem to stop it.] “…do yours need preened, too?”

[Dragonfly gets into a similar position to when dogs want to play.] “Spar!” [They POUNCE on Spice, lightly biting him— clearly not enough to hurt, even if it were a regular cookie they were biting and not Burning Spice Cookie.]

"Hmm... Come to think of it, I haven't had Burning Spice preen them in some time... You're welcome to take a crack at it, darling." Golden Cheese hums, picking at a few stubborn feathers.

Burning Spice expects a little more pain than that initially, but he suspects they're playing soft. He summons his parashu, throwing it against the wall near the doorway as a marker to himself to be gentle. That's a child, after all.

"Normally, I'd be interested to see how many hits you can take... But I would be remiss to fight such a weak opponent. An unjust battle, I'd say. Or can you pack more of a punch than that?" He smirks, showing teeth. "Bite as hard as you can! Taste the spice in my dough, little one! I can take it! If you're to truly protect your mama, you need the strength to do so!"

“When you’re done with mine then,” [Toffee says, closing her eyes.]

[She still purrs softly, a content expression on her face. She lets out a small chirp here and there at a painful pluck, but is overall fine.]

[Meanwhile…]

[Dragonfly lets out a little buzz sound as their wings flutter, then…they pounce again!]

[OH FUCK.]

[They aren’t able to taste spice, so they put all of their jaw strength into their bite without being deterred by the heat. It’s about…the same strength as a tiger’s bite— 1,050 PSI. And that’s a BABY…]

[They pull back, checking to make sure they didn’t draw jam.] “You ok?”

Burning Spice pulls back, examining his arm. The bite force almost reminded him of Nutmeg Tiger... so this kid had some teeth on them yet. There's definitely jam bleeding from the puncture points on his arm, but he doesn't look upset or panicked. He looks... Proud?

"HAHAHA!!! Now, THAT'S what I'm talking about! YES!! Very good!!" he smirks wider, turning his arm over and watching the jam trickle. "Though, in the interests of keeping us both in good health and not making your mama worry... should we find some pillows to spar with instead? Or do you prefer the biting and scratching? I have no qualms with either." He crosses his arms and leans down, playing at being intimidating toward the child.

"Well, you don't seem any worse for wear than when we last spoke. Golden Cheese Cookie will be happy you're well. I don't think I want to take up too much if your time..." Burning Spice leans against the doorframe, testing the waters. Is he free to go, or does Pure Vanilla want to talk more?

That is good to hear. I hope you're able to find time to spar again soon. Pure Vanilla runs through various potential solutions but comes up empty. The Vanilla Kingdom doesn't really have much in the way of melee fighters, at least, none that would prove a decent match for Burning Spice.... His own magic shields may hold up against direct hits but... he wouldn't be able to provide much in the way of counter attacks.

[Upon being placed on the floor, Dragonfly scuttles over to stand in front of the two other cookies, waving with a sharp-toothed grin.]

“They tend to get fussy when I’m gone for too long anyway. You should’ve seen them when they first hatched! …also don’t spoil them too much please…”

[Dragonfly reaches up and points at Toffee, glaring slightly,] “…mama.” [It’s as if to say, “Hurt my mama and I’ll crumble you”.]

Baby is IMMEDIATELY picked up by Golden Cheese. "Hello, little one... my name is Golden Cheese Cookie. My subjects call me Queen, or Their Radiance... but you, my little treasure, can call me Grandmama Cheese, if that's easier." Simply by existing, Dragonfly Cookie has earned themself a boop. Golden Cheese holds them out to Burning Spice to see. "This big red brute is my other half, Burning Spice Cookie. He may look scary, but he's just a big old softie," Golden Cheese retracts the child, holding them proper so that they can look around better. "Isn't he? Doesn't that hair look so soft?"

"Ha, ha, Golden Cheese Cookie," Burning Spice grumbles, unamused by everything except the latent protectiveness in such a small Cookie. Something they might have in common, besides the sharp teeth. Since Golden Cheese is preoccupied, he opts to converse with Toffee Apple, turning and walking over to her. "Have you been well, little one?"

“Golden! Spice!” [Toffee emerges from the portal with…is that a child?!] “Hi! I’m back! I brought my charge!”

Both Golden Cheese and Burning Spice turn, already lighting up at seeing Toffee Apple again. Burning Spice squints at the little green thing in Toffee Apple's arms, and when it talks, his eyes go wide and he grimaces.

Golden Cheese, meanwhile, immediately flies closer to check out the new arrival, bending over slightly to coo and awe over the teeny thing in Toffee Apple's arms. "Oh, aren't you just the most adorable little creature~! Simply darling..." If Golden Cheese didn't know any better, she'd be pinching cheeks. Instead, she's ruffling hair, just a little. "My, my, what a gorgeous little thing you are... I'm getting the urge to spoil this one," she comments, looking up at Toffee Apple with a coy smirk.

Burning Spice is the second to approach, trying to mask his increasing discomfort. Is that a baby dragon? Where did this child get a baby dragon?? Is it hostile?? If that thing has ever hurt Toffee Apple, I swear—

…Pure Vanilla shakes his head, he doesn’t really understand why Burning Spice would prefer to jump up, but… so be it.

Oh, I’m fine. Pure Vanilla awkwardly laughs. How has Golden Cheese been doing?

"Well enough," he grunts. "She's been fine. Keeps getting on my case, but that's nothing new. As spirited as ever. We haven't sparred in some time, though. I worry my skills with my parashu are waning." He sighs, averting his gaze, the sound having a languid and somewhat annoyed growl to it. His arms tighten in their crossed position, as if hugging himself.

"Well, you don't seem any worse for wear than when we last spoke. Golden Cheese Cookie will be happy you're well. I don't think I want to take up too much if your time..." Burning Spice leans against the doorframe, testing the waters. Is he free to go, or does Pure Vanilla want to talk more?
