Renting out a space in the office building she was in was probably one of the best ideas that Ophelia had in a while. She had decided to do some freelancing security work on the side but meeting with potential clients in the back of a bar really wasnât good for business. Music blasting in her ears, she almost missed someone walk into the smaller room until they were right in front of her. Taking her headphones out, the woman quickly put her schedule up to make sure she hadnât missed any appointments. She hadnât.Â
âIâm so sorry, did we have a meeting today?â She asked the person standing in her doorway.Â

rei-amamiyaâ:
Rei exhales, letting their entire body relax. It had tensed on automatic the moment they collided with the woman. She isnât grabbing them or hitting them and the scalding coffee in her cup is steaming on the cement and not on their clothes. Theyâre okay. Theyâre safe.
âThatâs alright, really,â Rei tells her, hands twisting around the strap of their bag. âI donât think either of us got burned so itâs all fi-â And thatâs when they see her face. âI-uh, uhm- are you, uh, do you need help?â They ask, motioning awkwardly at their own eye.
âOh god this? Yea no I messed up during kick boxing.â Ophelia said waving her hand. Looking a the person across from her, she scrunched her eyebrows a bit. âAre you okay? because you look like you just saw a ghost jump to life and try to attack you.âÂ
svlashuertaâ:
it was simply routine, walking with king side by side, his four - legged companion slowly keeping up with his pace. it was a sudden rush &. before he knew it, he had a few specks of coffee, on his sleeves. looking up at the brunette, he simply shook his head. king began to scoop up with his tongue, a few drops &. silas sternly called out his name, the dog simply took his position at his side, once again. â no need to apologize, I was about to go inside &. get one, how about you let me get you another one ? âÂ
âThatâs really not needed.â Ophelia was saying before she got distracted. The pup at her feet was begging for attention and the woman was more than welcome to give it to him âOh my god, I love dogs.â O said as she leaned down and started petting him. âYours is beautiful, and so well behaved.âÂ
fulgor-roseus-blogâ:
âItâs fineâŚat least it didnât fall on meâ The coffee wasnât terribly hot by now but still, not to mention she didnât want to have to wear something stained all day. âAnd it wasnât that great anyway, I donât recommend this storeâ She finally looked at the woman âOh..are you okay?â
âOh this?â Ophelia asked guesturing to her eye. âYeah, I went a little too hard at the gym and forgot to duck instead of weave.â She said with a laugh. Half of it was true, and thats all that mattered. âSadly I have absolutely no way to cover it up as I am terrible with make up.âÂ
The fact that her ego was the thing that hurt more than her body worried Ophelia. Sure she has bruises and a pretty nasty black eye, but it was the fact that she had been bested. It wasnât a fair fight to begin with, but still. Grabbing coffee for the morning, her glasses covering her face along with the hood of her sweatshirt, the woman walked out of the shop with her bag on her shoulder. Mentally going over everything she needed to accomplish at work as well as trying to figure out an excuse for everything was going to be tough, but lying was what she did well. Paying attention however, was not. She didnât see the person infront of her till she had ran into them, spilling her coffee all over the sidewalk. looking down at it with a sad face, Ophelia sighed before looking up at them.Â
âWell, that sucks. Sorry about that.âÂ
jnchojrmlloâ:
it all happened all too fast, next thing he knew he had been racing out of the building to do what he was assigned to do but the events that unfolded before him was far from what he had planned. his sight is focused on the brunette, the ones that he had just sworn to be faithful to and honest and here he was, facing her even in reality having to do something that he never wanted to do ; hurt her.Â
his hand wraps around one of her wrist and slams ( not hard enough to hurt her but hard enough to show some sign of power to his superiors ) her against the nearest surface. â stay the hell out of my way and you make sure to leave as soon as you can. â his voice is below and whisper and whatever anyone can see heâs issuing his own will of persuasion to finish the job he was assigned.Â
itâs not until he feels another presence and he turns around facing the woman who had approached them â I think you should go, move along before i make you. â he spats at the brunette looking towards Ophelia.Â

The grin on her face was more comical than menacing. Ophelia honestly knew that what was about to happen was a life or death thing, but she didnât care. She had a job to do and she was going to do it. Win at all costs. After leaving Adonis high and dry yet again, the woman had ran to change out of the dress she was wearing into something that she wouldnât care would be ruined. The night was going to end bloody and before the city woke the next morning, they would all know that the fights between the groups werenât done. She had been looking for her target when she found her....with someone else she didnât expect. The two were closer than she had expected them to be, but Ophelia brushed it off as she tried to focus. The coldness of the gun that was in the small of her back kept her alert, and though she knew two against one wasnât great, she wasnât going to go down without a fight.Â
âWell you know I canât do that Juan. Just like you and your pretty little friend over there, I have orders. And we all know what happens when people disobey orders.âÂ
fcllonchrmingâ:
she always had to come prepared, it was certainly the must haves ; concealer, blush, bronzer, mascara, lashes, a glass and most importantly either some rice paper or pressed powder. little tricks and there she had learned her own way to make sure she looked impecable the whole night. â please, you still look perfect. â she muses towards the brunette â now, letâs go on and have some fun, shall we ? âÂ
Ophelia adored the other girl. She was the closest thing she had to family besides the mob. She was the one person who wasnât her friend because of what she could do for her. Fallon loved Ophelia because she actually cared about her. And that was rare. âLook. I am all for having fun tonight, but I need you to promise me something.â Ophelia took the other womans hands in hers and made her face her. âIf something goes on tonight...I need you to get out of here and go straight home okay? Lock your door and just wait for me to contact you in the morning.â Phi knew what was going to happen that night....what the announcement would bring. And the last thing she needed was to worry about her friend.
adoniscxrringtonâ:
maybe he was being way too harsh with her and maybe it didnât matter to her the way that he spoke to her but it seemed that he might have hit a nerve, so he decided to tone it down. the last thing that he needs is to make a scene. heâs not done juvenile who says things from an impulse. â well, I hope your enjoying the festivities. â it sounds sarcastic but he doesnât mean it for it to come out that way. â I never said that you planned it ââ- there you go putting words in my mouth that never came out. â it had always been an issue, towards the end he felt as if no matter what he said, he was always the bad guy.Â
âAdonis I never put words in your mouth. The way you worded it made it seem like that.â Ophelia was really trying not to get irritated. The buzz she had gotten was already starting to fade with the interaction and honestly this wasnât how she wanted it to go. The fact that they hadnât spoken in months and this was how they were meeting again wasnât something she had wanted. At some point he had been the one that she was in love with...the one she was still in love with. She cared about him more than her own feelings in a sense, and that was why she left. But the hostility wasnât something she expected from him. Even when he was mad at her, he never acted like this. But the woman expected it, honestly she was just happy he didnât just ignore her completely. âLook...can we please just forget about everything thatâs happened? Just for tonight. Let me congratulate you on something that you earned and take the compliment. In the morning you can go back to loathing me like you want to.â

fallon always came prepared for events such as these, always something to re touch her makeup or a hair oil to pin down those treacherous curls of hers but ophelia hadnât gotten the memo yet and here she was in the ladies room helping the brunette before her â phee, I love you but if you donât stop moving I will stab you in the eye. â fallon was a perfectionist at heart and everything needed to look like a masterpiece. â and there you are done, good as new. âÂ
feat. @burningxlovesâ
fallon was a lifesaver. After being held up at work, ophelia was cutting it close and didnât have anytime to actually go in and get her make up done like she had wanted. sure she could do simple looks but for something as elegant as this, she needed something that popped. thankfully her best friend always had an entire vanity of make up somehow stashed in her purse at all times and saved the day. âyouâre seriously a goddess. i had a whole plan to look nice and put together and we had a late party come in that I had to host.âÂ
adoniscxrringtonâ:
he wasnât here to make her feel good about herself or to even re-live past memories, he was here for a favor and as soon as it was time to leave, he would be out those doors. after coming back, he really had no place and she sort of became home but things turned left quickly and he took it. â thank you, the commissioner is surely happy. canât disappoint him. â the talking they were sharing to a minimum was getting tiresome. â well, when i used to drink, it was because i was coming home to something worth celebrating, now not so much. â he was being cold toward sher but that was the only way to get his rousse going. â honestly, ophelia what do you want ? you made it perfectly clear that a life with me was far from what you wanted, so whatâre your intentions ? âÂ
He was right. she had made it clear that she didnât want to be with him, even though it wasnât something that she wanted to do. But protecting him by lying to him was better than the alternative, and though he didnât realize it at the time, he would agree with her. âI donât have any intentions Adonis....iâm here because like you, I was asked to be.â Taking a sip of her drink, the woman looked around and tried to ignore the snub he had given her. âJust because we ran into each other here doesnât mean I planned it, literally everyone is here.âÂ

He had heard of her - just like he had heard of the other two hackers that had recently been brought into the Syndicate. He valued their work (as much as he valued anything) and had made a note in his calendar that if any of the three survived, heâd introduce himself. Hackers didnât have a long life within the Syndicate. It wasnât that they died - it was that they simply disappeared. He had come to realize that some hackers had the same kind of life-expectancy as flies. âCongratulations on surviving,â he said, having watched her mingle through the crowd, here there and everywhere. He had seen the other two hackers in the crowd as well. Not dead - what a joy for the Syndicate at large. Maybe they could keep the tech-literate for once. The region manager for lower Brooklyn didnât smile, the expression on his face remained muted â a curious lack of affect â a doctor had once written in his notes. âPlans for the evening?âÂ
âI feel like that was sort of an insult so iâm going to take that as a compliment.â Ophelia said with a laugh. âBut thank you. Iâm kind of liking the perks that come along with this job. The big ones being money and having a roof over my head.â It was meant as a joke, but the woman was also a little serious. Never in her life did she think she would ever be working for any kind of mob. But after sitting in prison and then not being able to have a steady place to live when she got out, it was the first time she had something stable...even if it was illegal. âMy plans are to enjoy the drinks, donât get too drunk and try not to die.â She said shrugging her shoulder. Though she knew the feeling that was buzzing in the air tonight after the announcement of the fall of a different group, Ophelia also had a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. Something she couldnât shake. âWhat about you?âÂ
adoniscxrringtonâ:
seeing ophelia wasnât at the top of his list, at least not any longer. whatever relationship he had with her had ended when she decided to leave without an explanation : not that he needed one now. taking a sip of the drink before him, he turns to her.Â
grassy hues scan around the room and fall back to her â the commissioner wanted my presence and itâs not like I could say no. â he simply couldnât, that would cause a side look for the carringtons and he simply wouldnât allow that. â well, I would say itâs good to see you but we both know thatâs not true. âÂ
The smile she had on her face faltered a bit at his comment. She knew she had to leave him. He was getting too close too her secret and the last thing Ophelia needed was for him to get hurt because she had let her feelings rule over her logic. If he needed to hate her, she would let him. It didnât mean it didnât hurt any less. âRight, your promotion. I know it doesnât mean much, but iâm proud of you for that.â And she was, even if it was the main reason why she had to leave him in the first place. âYou know, youâre a lot nicer when youâve had a few drinks in you Don. I distinctly remember you used to get very excited to see me.â Just because she missed him didnât mean she couldnât mess with him a bit.Â
adoniscxrringtonâ:
he knows how all of these fundraisers went, everyone threw in a little bit ( &. by a little bit it was more than you would have on your every day pocket ) of cash and made themselves feel good for helping a cause thatâs not theirs. at the end of the day, theyâre all bottom feeders looking to benefit from someone else. heâs taking a break from the praises heâs given, he knows their only to get into his parents good graces.Â
leaning on the bar as he awaits for his drink, he feels a presence reaching to get their own glass. oceanic hues trail to the person and their is a brief moment of anger that coerces through his frame. he stops it, telling himself that hatred is only self poisoning. theyâre last encounter was fast and he didnât wish to see her again but then again here she was. â ophelia.âÂ
@burningxlovesâ
The smile she was throwing to the person she was talking to faltered for a quick second as she heard the voice. The last thing she needed right now was to have him cause a scene here. Not now. She cursed herself as she should have checked on where he was going to be tonight before telling her boss she would be here as well. However, she figured he would stay home. He never was one for these events. After excusing herself from the person in front of her, Ophelia watched them walk away before she turned around and faced the man she hadnât seen in months.Â
âAdonis...surprise meeting you here.âÂ
aaron-keatonâ:
âHeh,â Aaron laughed bitterly. Once upon a time, he had thought like this. Maybe he was too cynical now, but according to him, the price to pay was never picked by yourself, and in the end, no matter the choices, youâd end up stuck in a shitty situation.
âMorally obliged,â both he and Bob would have gladly stayed home, but one of them was paid to be here to night, and the other couldnât possibly let him go alone. Aaron was the latter. Supporting his partner was the least he could do, and he figured seeing people wouldnât hurt. His eyes were drawn toward him then, a shit eating grin appearing on his face as he saw what the other was up to. Couldnât have acted normally if his life depended on it.
âWhat about you?â
âWork obligation.â It wasnât a lie. She was here for work, just probably not the work that most people figured. âPlus what woman wouldnât want to shove herself into a tight dress and heels for an entire night just to smile at strangers.â She liked dressing up but she hated when it was forced. And considering the person she had just ran into earlier, she would rather be anywhere but here at the moment. âYou could always fake sick. Go home with your partner, have a nice night in.âÂ
