Every Promoter is a Tribe Leader

Social media has enhanced the media industry but pro-wrestling boasts astounding engagement numbers. With the many social media metrics WWE reveals every week and the amount of ippv(s) and pro-wrestling information marketed via twitter, pro-wrestling seems to have clung to this media form better than other media competitors.
This growth has , in effect, enabled promoters and fans to connect and enter into networks that were previously nonexistent or difficult to manage. As a result, promoters now have access to thousands of fans organized through a few social media channels. This relationship empowers promoters to engage and work with fans more closely to learn from fans more rapidly. The goal is for promoters to assume leadership in these networks not in dictatorial sense but in a way that facilitates dialogue and provides a space for intimate access to information and products-very similar to the relationship between a tribe and its leader. This relationship will strengthen as social media matures and promoters use of them does. There are many opportunities on the horizon, and I hope both promoters and fans alike are open to exploring better ways to exchange and connect. Even though we do not know the exact permutation or all the technology and how it can be leveraged, I do think there are two core principles that promoters should abide by to create cohesion. Build your tribe. Use social media to galvanize and converse with followers. The intimacy pays off in being able to market easier, sell and create overall affinity with your brand. You are our leader. Talk to us, point us in the right direction and map out the future for us. We are excited about what you say and how frequently you say it. So, say it and say it often. Brand. Become known for something. Leverage social media to express your brand idea. What do you stand for? We, as your tribe should know that and want to know it so we can support you. Personally, I am huge fan of Shine because of what that promotion does and what it represents: Quality wrestling from some the best female wrestlers in the world on a monthly basis. Got it, and I enjoy it. I think every promotion is unique and has its own brand. With that, comes unique people who gravitate to that brand. Lead them , market and sell to them. We want you to do all three. Just do it as any leader should , responsibly.
