I want to start uploading battle reports for a crusade Iâm playing at my local game store! Partially to keep my momentum up and to get more into the 40K community here!! âŚ. Iâm tired of reddit.
Unfortunately starting out with a loss but it was an overall fun game! I pushed hard in the first half but my experienced partner was helping my new opponent to beat my ass. >:(
A very, very fun tie where both of us left happy and satisfied!! My opponent was very nice, he had a background in the tournament scene but was looking for some more casual play. This mission would have been a great one for sisters if I had a higher point count. We are playing two games at 750, four at 1000, four at 1500, and four at 2000. I know itâs not how the official crusade rules but Iâve been really liking the weekly matched games.
Bruh I lost so BAD. I really learned a lot about hoard armies in this game and I over prepared for psychic push back. I still felt like it was worthwhile but I was not proud of how I played.

First sisters win!! FOR THE EMPEROR! This was such a fun game not because I won, I promise it felt much closer than the score my reflect. My opponent was so nice, every orkz player is so kind and just there to have a good time and he was no exception! He told me he had some old metal sisters from 2nd edition he might finally go back to working on after learning how cool they are in 10th edition! I even bought a Kommandos kill team off of him!
Little winning streak? This week we were doing in-fighting matches! There are sooo many Dark Angels in this crusade because of the new supplement but itâs not aiding them too much. Oh dude bros, they will never cease underestimating femme players and sisters as an army then be salty!!
A very fun game! I was playing with someone who Iâve talked to a bit at the local game store a good bit but hadnât had the he chance to play yet! She is newer to playing and had mostly spent time 3d printing and painting. Her nids were very cool and the ones that have been painted in a Metroid inspired theme!
I kinda felt bad it was such a sweep because she was a great opponent, but maybe I just need to get over my imposter syndrome. đ
Next Sunday morning Iâll be playing Necrons, so look out for an update! I expect a wild game, because we both just get to resurrect our characters!

As an IRL obstructive bureaucrat, it saddens me that the Administratum don't have their own military like the Ecclesiarchy or Admech.
I know they control the Ordo Tempestus, but I'm thinking more like a vast army of tanks that look like filing cabinets and stapler-shaped heavy bolters and so on. Power-armoured battle scriveners covered in requisition permit purity seals going on Rectification Crusades to forcibly make reality match with their records.

warhammer 40k loves to call itself a satire of fascism and then depicts a universe in which all of the great fascistic anxieties and beliefs of its imperium (the enemy is everywhere, it is both weak and strong, we are eternal, any violence we commit is justified, our leader is our genetic superior, degeneracy will lead to the collapse of our society) are all objectively true, completely blunting any satirical edge it could have, but giving it just enough plausible deniability that games workshop can market to anyone of any ideology

40k is an exercise in showing HOW the far-right sees the world. It is holding up this example and going "isn't this ridiculous? Isn't this just an absolutely fucking bonkers way of looking at the world?"
Like, the Imperium of Man is a failed state. It is a tangled mess of incompetent bureaucrats wrapped in so much fearmongering and religious dogma that it can lo longer competently do ANYTHING other than make war, and even THAT it can't do competently.
I do think you're right though that modern 40k doesn't present the imperium critically enough.
I think the solution would be to make the satire, y'know, funny? There was a recent story during the 4th tyrannic war where the ecclesiarchal forces on a planet REFUSED to accept that the tyranids were invading their planet and executed anybody who said they were as a heretic. The emperor would never allow such a thing. Even while they were waist-deep in termagant jaws they cried that the whole invasion was fake news. THAT's the kind of shit we need novels about.
Like, present space marines the way the Fallout show presented the Brotherhood of Steel. They paint themselves as the invulnerable defenders of the wasteland, but in reality are just an abusive cult comprised of dumb assholes with lots of toy guns.
The return of Guilliman was... an attempt at this. But the problem is that even the imperium of Guilliman's time was fundamentally broken.

Okay maybe I donât get it, but is anyone else kind of uncomfortable and bothered by the whole meme/theory of female Custodes being implanted by Tzeentch?
I like the concept of a silly âretconâ (which is not what female Custodians are) actually being the work of Tzeentch. But⌠guys please pick literally anything else, Iâm begging!
It just makes it feel like the conservative theory of âwokeâ infiltration of their oh so sacred hobby, feel like it has legs to stand on. Iâve seen cool art and narratives about the concept and I know many people donât intend for it to be taken as an insult.. but something about buying into it makes me not want to interact.
Yeah I feel like that too. That and seeing it dub from two people i respected and the comments being filled with toxicity kinda lead me to my breakdown. (My mental health is messy and I my body was feeling bad so don't you dare go witchhunt those people)
