Some of my babies. All are grown semi hydroponically, LECA, perlite or lechuza pon.
I grow my house plants semi hydroponically, in LECA.
This type of post is lovingly called root porn in the semi hydro community. XD
This last post is just of an Alocasia Frydek and Alocasia Ivory Coast (not a pink princess, just a very juvenile plant). Both I grew from corms (bulbs), the mature Ivory Coast didn’t make it transitioning from soil to LECA, and the adult Frydek I still have and it’s happily growing in semi hydroponics too.
I put the corms into only perlite (still a semi hydro method) until they got big enough and transferred to LECA. The IC especially has *taken off*, look at all the new plants pushing out!!
I grow my houseplants in mostly semi hydro setups, in LECA.

Monstera Adansonii (monkey mask/swiss cheese plant) and a Fiddle Leaf Fig (Ficus Lyrata).
I have heard that the FLF is notorious for being difficult to transfer from soil to LECA. My first suggestion is to buy one you don’t mind losing lol, then follow the instructions from The LECA Queen on YouTube in prepping the roots for LECA, and also her video on The Long Method. That’s how mine is thriving!
Third and final (for now) root porn post after the jump.

Philodendron Billietiae, Alocasia Frydek, Syngonium Albo, and 2 separate Syngonium Mojitos however one has lost it’s variegation. )’:
