Imagine you’re some sort of ancient human. You’ve seen elephants around, probably hunted some. They’re cool. Dangerous, but cool. Mostly chill as long as you let them do their thing and don’t approach their babies.

And you’ve been in lots of caves. Sometimes for rituals, sometimes to bury your dead, sometimes to paint, sometimes just for fun because caves are neat. But, at best, you’ve had only a flickering torch to illuminate your journey.

THEN, one day, you find a new cave. It is fantastically big and it sparkles! Your tourchlight dances over the walls and ceiling like magic.

And then the light falls on a bunch of fucking elephants looking absolutely DEMONIC. They appear solid black in the gloom, their eyes flat white orbs, their tusks sparkly just like the cave. And they just stare at you, more and more resolving out of the gloom one by one.

You’d either come up with a REALLY cool myth or just die on the spot.
