I actually missed the Renaissance Faire, how was it? I’ve seen a bunch of pictures, it looked quite funny. Did you dress up? I’m so happy to hear that! You deserve to have a great time. Speaking of having fun, will you be on the trip?

It was a really good time, actually. I’ve never been to one before so I had nothing to really compare it to, but everyone seemed to have had fun. It was nice. I didn’t dress up for it, no. I was going to but it was kind of hot, you know? Aw, thank you. You’re so sweet! I’m not, I kind of decided to let the kids relax at home and I stayed with them.

Seems like such a horrible thing to complain about, right? Trying to tan. Aw, that is lovely! They are the perfect age to enjoy the fun things here in town, and I will have to properly meet them soon.

That’s everything to complain about, honestly. It just plain sucks when you spend so much time in the sun only to never get a tan. They really are, and I just love watching them just enjoy this place. Oh my gosh, yes. Come over whenever you can. They’ll love to meet you.

I can imagine! It’s a lot of work that you put into putting on a show and entertaining a huge crowd like that. Not to mention how you have to be active while you’re singing and sometimes move from one side of the stage to the other. I get tired of just seeing the singer up on the stage! We did! We didn’t stay too long after the fireworks, though. Are you guys heading to the Renaissance Faire that’s going on these couple of days?

Oh God, yeah. I don’t think a lot of people understand how much work we go through to make these things happen for them. It takes months or planning just the design of the stages alone and then the set lists and deciding hiring back up dancers is really necessary. Sometimes just discussing it all is enough to make you wanna pass out in exhaustion. It was a really good day and the fireworks were absolutely beautiful. We did! I took Isaiah to it Saturday and Sunday while my mom stayed with Jacob. Did you guys head over too?

Working in a garden is definitely very… zen. It helps me unwind a little before getting back out there. How do you spend your downtime here in town?

I’d totally have to agree. Gardening was one of my favorite things to do with my mama back when I was younger. It’s nice to have something like that. Usually I’m out hiking through the trails with my boys.

If the beach tried to leave, I would chase it. I have been spending a lot of time on the beach, and still haven’t darkened much! It’s rubbish. It’s perfect for the kiddos. What ages do you have, Carrie?

That would be such a horrible thing if that happened. Oh, no. Really? Don’t worry, babe. You’ll get darker as the days go on, I promise! We don’t have beaches in Nashville so Isaiah especially is thrilled to be near one. Isaiah’s 4 and Jacob is almost six months.

{July Fourth - Open}

The Fourth of July celebration was something that Carrie had been looking forward to since she had gotten back into town. After being away from Bayview for a little over a month or so, the blonde couldn’t wait to jump back into the town’s upcoming events. Plus, getting to relax at home with a lot of her friends for at least a few months until September just sweetened the deal. A couple days had been more than enough time to get back into old routines of how things were before she had left. Since her mother was in town for the next two weeks, she didn’t have to worry too much about Isaiah wanting to do his own thing and running off on her so she was pretty much able to enjoy whatever was happening around her. Which she was grateful for. With Jacob still somewhat fast asleep in the stroller, Carrie decided it was time to settle down so that she could people watch a little bit before the kids finally got hungry.

Daisy had arrived a tad late to the event, but she was happy that she made it and got to see her fellow town mates. She made her way around and greeted everyone she could, then laid eyes on a familiar face that she hadn’t seen in a little while. The actress approached Carrie with a huge smile, and waved to her. “Hey! I am happy to see you here. How have you been?” She leaned in to give the blonde a hug and peeled her body slowly from. She kept her smile, and attention on her. “I know I am late, but I am glad to see people still here. It would have been embarrassing if I got here, and everyone was gone. Especially because I love so bloody close to the beach.” She laughed and glanced towards the little one in the stroller. “Fireworks haven’t woken him up I see.”

Carrie had been a little bit lost in her thoughts that was until she had heard a familiar voice, the smile clearly forming on her lips at the sight of the younger woman standing in front of her. "Hey, my love! It's so amazing to see you again. I've been really good, mostly crazy busy! How about you? How have you been?" The blonde asked, giving Daisy a big squeeze for a few moments before she had allowed her to pull away. "I'm so happy you're here! I was so worried you weren't gonna make it tonight! Thank goodness we all saved you from that embarrassment though." She chuckled softly as she followed her glance towards the stroller where Jacob was. "Thank God for noise cancelling headphones for kids. He sleeps like a rock with them."

Amidst the chaos in my life, it looks like I’ve finally decided to find permanent solace here in Bayview. I’ve been vacationing here for years, yet I’ve never thought about moving here as a resident until recently. I’ve been putting the finishing touches on my place these past few days, and I think all my binge-watching of Fixer Upper has finally paid off! Anywho, I’m Taylor and I’m intrigued to find some new gems around Bayview. I’m mostly familiar with the Bayside area, but I’m always down to find new hangouts. Bonus points if you can direct me to the nearest winery!

Well, congratulations on finally making that big leap and moving here permanently, Tay. How have you been settling on since then? Good I hope? Fixer Upper is the best though, especially when you need to get some ideas on how to redecorate and everything. Just let me know when you’re free and want to go and I can definitely take you to the best winery in town.

The worst thing about playing a character of many accents is that even when I’m talking in my own voice, I’m told it’s really good and to “do another.” Sitting next to a very chatty woman on the flight into town was great and all but I can’t even count the amount of times she asked if I’d been watching a lot of Beatles interviews to perfect my accent. Nope, this one is genuine. Moving to a new place means I need to make friends though and I want to know all the best places in town, so I would be open to talking in any accent you like that makes me easier to understand. For all future new friends, I’m Jodie and I’m also happy to confirm I’ve killed a lot less people in real life than on my show, so please don’t be scared.

I can’t even imagine how annoying that must get sometimes. That’s why I’m so grateful to have only one accent and absolutely no acting talent whatsoever. Cause I’d go absolutely insane if people kept doubting what accent is real or not. How are you enjoying town so far since you’ve gotten in? If you’re still willing, I’d be glad to show you all the great places in town. It’s nice to meet you, Jodie -- I’m Carrie. I’m such a huge fan of your show so we just gotta be friends.

I am glad to hear that, I know when the girls are home with Chris and I it does not take long for them to get back into their routines with us.  Will you be at the events for the fourth tomorrow?

It’s wonderful how easy it is for kids to fall back into their old routines right away, isn’t it? It makes everything ten times better. We are, actually. I wouldn’t miss that for the world. My mom’s actually here for a little bit so we’re excited to show her around a bit.

There will be plenty of time to have some more beach time though, especially with summer here. It’s like the perfect blend here, right? There is down times where you can just be relaxing, then there is a party you can attend and have a blast of a time. It’s perfect.

That’s what I was thinking too. the beach isn’t going anywhere and since it’s summer, I’m more than eager to get on out their with the kiddos and enjoy some waves and sand. It is, there’s no better place. I swear everyone should come down here, it may end up relaxing everyone.

It does! You get so used to seeing specific faces whenever there’s an event so I always notice whenever someone leaves. Oh, fun! How long are you touring for? I’ve been great! Just coming back from working and little JD is busy bouncing off the walls so he’s back to normal. You did! You’ll get the chance to eat great food with us!

I know exactly what you mean, it’s kind of strange noticing someone missing when you’re used to seeing them. It has been fun and tiring a bit. Once we start it back up again in September we’ll only have about a month or so left, I believe? That’s good, I’m so glad to hear it. Are you guys gonna be at the 4th of July festivities tomorrow? I’m so looking forward to that. Great food with great people. What’s not to love, right?
