Albus was walking with his hands shoved into his pockets and his head down. Typically this was the sort of situation that caused to smack into someone else, but Albus had sort of perfected it over the years. He was good at dodging. And when he couldn’t dodge, he’d stop in his tracks. This time he did the latter. When he raised his eyes to meet who he’d nearly collided with, he wished he hadn’t looked up at all. Diego. “Uh…hey, man.”

Diego had been wandering around aimlessly, his toad resting on his shoulder as he walked through the halls. He too often went walking and ended up in the wrong part of the castle, or running into someone he would rather not. When he saw Albus, some part of him hoped he wouldn’t be seen while another part of him wanted to talk to him about what had happened the year before. When he stopped, Diego sighed softly, hand reaching up to rub the back of his neck. “Albus. Hi.”
