[ tish was close to beating the shit out of an orderly if he didn’t let her through. but, luckily, they bit. she’d been waiting all afternoon, watching her beautiful little boy sleep as she waited for something, anything out of the back about priestly, and now she was being let in to see him. to stay with him. ]
“The other guy can suck my dic-doritos.”
[ the brunette had jude in one arm, and the baby bag and car seat in the other when she walked in. she must have looked like hell, worrying the way she had been, crying for as long as she had. she smiled when he smiled and put everything down by his bed, moving over to kiss his forehead gently, her little boy tugging on her hair with a whine as he made grabby hands at priestly. ]
”He’s.. uhm… He’s been asking for you all afternoon.”
[ jude had never spoken before. not one word that wasn’t aimless babble or a giggle. he’d never even said mama. but today of all days, the little boy asked for his dada. it was part of the reason she’d been crying so much. but, now his dada was here, and the little boy wanted nothing more than to climb in his arms and fall back asleep. ]
[ priestly laughed softly, not lifting his head from the pillow placed behind him. ]
"I doubt he can say my name. I realize Boaz is short, but if it sounds like 'buh-ass' when my two year old cousin says it..."
[ he doesn't get it. he's got a concussion, you can't blame him for being slow. ]
"Hand him over, I've still got one good arm."
[ as she leans down in front of him to hand jude over, priestly kisses her. and, while it's just the faint presence of lips on skin, it's still a kiss. as he holds jude in his arms, he smiles and begins to babble nonsense at him. no matter how much he'd like to believe it, jude and himself don't have the secret form of communication down yet. but, one word he does make out is dada. ]
"---- What did he say?"
"He said----"
"---- no way, no, he didn't."
