Lilia was grinning endlessly, satisfied with herself for bothering Bucky into entertaining / hanging out with her. She took the elevator all the way down to the bottom of the watchtower, settling outside leaning against a wall waiting for him.
Bucky, somewhat begrudgingly, pulled on his gloves and coat, and grabbed his keys. This was good- technically, he needed to spend more time around people anyway. Did he want to? Not always. But that was life.
In no particular rush, he made his way outside, approaching Lilia with a nod of his head in greeting. He spun the keys to his motorcycle around one finger, catching them fully as he stopped in front of her, free hand stuffed into the pocket of his jacket. "You ready to go?" He asked, flicking his head towards where his bike was parked.
Lilia nodded back, her own eyes flickering to his bike too. “Surprised you showed up. Almost thought you’d just make me come out here and then lock the doors to the watchtower.” She teased playfully. Walking towards his bike with him.
"You should've suggested that before I came out here," Bucky quipped back, spinning his keys a few more times on the way to the bike. He liked Lilia, actually— she was smart, capable, and kind. Was she a bit much? Sometimes, yeah. Though he'd never admit it, he found it endearing. Maybe even cute, though he'd never be caught dead using the word.
Bucky climbed onto his motorcycle with ease, pulling out a pair of sunglasses from his pocket and putting them on. He glanced at her over his shoulder as he started the vehicle, the engine rumbling to life. "Hop on."
Lilia grinned. “But then you wouldn’t get to spend time with little old me if you did. Sounds boring t’me.” She snickered, hopping on the back of his bike with ease.
Her hands hesitated slightly, something rare for her, glancing at him before gently holding onto his jacket, unsure of where to grab so she didn’t go flying off the bike.
She was sure he wouldn’t mind if that happened, anyway. She knew him having to socialise wasn’t his favourite thing. But nonetheless she always persisted in trying to make him get out of the watchtower with someone else, not just for missions. Was it because of her own fondness for him? Yeah; yet she figured she hid it pretty well.
Bucky gave a faint smirk at her words, an expression he purposefully did not allow her to see, turning his gaze back forward as she climbed on. She was right about one thing, he'd give her that— the time he spent with her definitely wasn't boring. Honestly, he wondered why she ever wanted to spend time with him, he was the boring, non-conversational, grumpy one. The two of them certainly made an odd pair.
Bucky felt the faintest tug of hands at his jacket, and gave a shake of his head. "You'll have to put your arms around me. Safer that way, trust me." He called back over his shoulder, backing the motorcycle out of the spot he was in carefully to give her time to get comfortable. He didn't think much of it— it was important that she held on properly, even if they weren't going too far.
Lilia swallowed, with a quick roll of her eyes she fully wrapped her arms around him, holding on tight. She couldn’t recall being on his bike before. If any of their teammates saw this scene, she knew both her and him would be teased endlessly, and they’d never let them live it down.
She shifted, getting comfortable on the bike. “Y’know, I don’t think I’ve ever been on a motorcycle before.” She spoke as he took off.
"Sorry, I guess I should've asked," Bucky replied, picking up speed slightly as he turned out onto the main roads. "Just hold on tight, okay?" He called back over his shoulder, a bit louder now so she could hear him over the noise of the road and hum of the motorcycle's engine.
After telling her to hold on, he picked up the pace a bit more, feeling the slightest urge to show off a bit, have fun— perhaps a ghost of the man he used to be before... Well, before so many years had passed, at the very least. Still, he didn't want to frighten her, so he kept it tame for now- she'd never been on a motorcycle before, and he wasn't cruel.
She laughed. “I’m not complaining, Bucky.” She corrected. “Kind of reminds me of a JetSki.”
She’d been on a JetSki but not a motorcycle? Really?
She laughed a little more as he picked up the pace, clearly enjoying the exhilaration. Her arms stayed tight around him, but she was still giggling. Something about the thrill of speed. “This is pretty fun.”
A JetSki? It took Bucky a moment to remember what one was, and that meant he certainly hadn't ridden one before. Though, when he thought about it, he imagined it would be as easy as riding a motorcycle- just... Water instead of road. How had she been on one of those, but not a motorcycle her whole life?
His mind was pulled back as he heard her say that it was fun, and he felt a smile tug at his lips, faint but there. Bucky slowed slightly, looking down at her over his shoulder. "Hang on tight- this isn't a JetSki." There was barely a second between his words and when he punched the gas, sending them speeding forward. He dipped between a few cars, admittedly having fun with it, just a little.
Maybe getting out more wasn't such a bad thing?
Luckily, Lilia couldn’t see his face, meaning she couldn’t tease him for his very slight upturn or his lips. Besides, she was too captivated in the moment. Her heart racing at the new experience. She rolled her eyes, playful, as he looked back at her. Hugging her arms around him a little tighter.
Sounds of her amusement filled the air as they weaved their way through traffic, listening to the engine purr. Going at a speed like this was much more exhilarating on a motorcycle rather than a car.
“Where are we headed?” She questioned, her voice a little louder so he could hear her over the sound of the bike.
Bucky found that he was actually enjoying himself a little bit, dipping through cars as they cut through the wind. The sounds of her enjoyment were enough to make him smile just a touch more, for a moment letting himself get lost in the rare pleasant moment.
Her voice brought him back, asking where they were going. He slowed the motorcycle a bit, taking note of the streets they were passing. "I know a couple nice spots down town," Bucky replied, going a more normal pace as he turned down a street.
"What do you usually eat for lunch?" He added, deciding that since this was technically to entertain her, she should choose. That, and he didn't much care, he just wanted something to eat.
She watched the world go by as they drove, humming to herself as he slowed down.
She shrugged, before reminding herself he couldn’t see her. “I eat anything and everything. Not kidding. Just something simple, and cheap. Your choice.” The smile could be heard in her voice, playfully poking his shoulder before holding back on. “Unless Bucky Barnes has expensive taste?” She teased.
At her words, Bucky shook his head, turning down another street. "Nah, nothing fancy," he said, "but... Are you good with brunch?" He asked, already headed towards a place he liked with great pancakes. He was used to going alone, used to eating alone- this was sure to be interesting for him.
“I’m definitely good with brunch.” Lilia agreed, her tone soft and easy. Like it was easy to talk to him, for her. “Wasn’t sure if you actually ate, thought you might just drink bitter black coffee and brood.” She joked.
Bucky raised a slight brow, wondering if that was how everyone really saw him- brooding, unapproachable. Probably. He told himself he was fine with that- that it was most likely better that way. Still, some people managed to surprise him, worming their way into his life like it was natural. Like they did brunch all the time.
"Actually, I have a bit of a sweet tooth," was Bucky's reply, bike slowing to a quiet rumble as he pulled through a cute little shopping district, wading through people to find a place to park. When he did, he kicked the stopper down, killing the engine.
Lily gasped quietly “You? Have a sweet tooth? Bucky, that’s like the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard. No pun intended.” She teased, but she was being serious. “But I guess that’s one thing we have in common.” She watched Bucky get off the bike first with ease, before starting to move off herself with rare clumsiness. “What’s your favourite dessert?”
"Do pancakes count as a dessert? Or is that more of a breakfast item?" Bucky asked, shoving his hands into the pockets of his jacket as they walked the semi-busy street of people. He took a moment, out of habit really, to survey their surroundings for any danger. He scanned people, places, hiding spots, going through a mental checklist before quietly deciding to himself that the street seemed safe. And so he kept going, leading them towards a little place on the corner.

Sienna pokes her head in as she waves. "It's another one-! Welcome darling~ just a pop by to say hello."

Bucky's head tips slightly to the side as he tries to figure out exactly what those words mean. "Um, hey there, welcome by." A small pause. "Hold on a second- what does 'another one' mean, exactly?" He asks.
Sienna blinks as she smiles. "Oh nothing- I just keep meeting different Bucky's is all. All timelines thing is always confusing dear." Her tone was sweet as she walks over.
"... Right, right. Still getting used to all that." Bucky replied, giving a faint quirk of his lips as he nodded. "Well, it's nice to meet you, anyhow. What's your name?" He asked, giving her a once-over.
"It'll take a minute to get used to. Oh I'm rude, Sienna Giovanni." She nods her head as she smiles. "No need for introductions dear. Very aware of who you are."
Bucky gave a slight grin, brow furrowed just a bit. "Right. That's... Stranger than I'm used to. What, uh... exactly do you know about me already?" He asked, subconsciously flexing the metal fingers of his arm beneath his coat and glove.
"Basics that the public already knows.." Sienna shrugs as she took a step back. She felt she made him uneasy. She sighs a bit.
"Uh sorry.. I just... When you've been in that hell hole for so long. And you meet others who've been. It's just harsh to let old habits go...and you learn about others as much you can..." She frowns. "I can leave...I'm sorry.."
He finds himself feeling a bit guilty— he hadn't meant to make her feel bad. It was just... Hard, hearing somebody knew you when you didn't know them. That, and he's always been a very guarded man. He's working on that.
Bucky takes a deep breath, shaking his head as he lets it out in a long sigh. "No, no, listen—" He places a hand on his chest. "I'm sorry. I'll get used to it. Let's just... Start over, how about that?" He suggested, trying to salvage the situation for the both of them.
Sienna was silent as she gently nods her head. She bit her bottom lip as she wasn't good at this thing honestly. "Uh yes please. Sorry...still learning to not ramble much.."
Her shoulders stiffen slightly but she knew the feeling. Keeping a guard up, having to be wary of others. Even ones you've once met before or cared for. It was that fear she kept still.
Bucky shook his head, the guilt he felt spreading to the tips of his metal fingers, like it always did. He flexed them beneath his gloves, taking a breath. "Don't apologize- it's alright, promise. Why don't..." He looked her over, mind searching for a conversation topic. "You tell me a bit about you? I've never met any Sienna's before," He said, trying to ease the moment with some light humor.
She took a second as she smiles. A giggle left her as she nods her head. "Ah well. We are a bit private."
She walked a bit closer as she tilts her head. Her fingers pressed into her chin as she thinks. "I'm old like you. Yes, we're old Bucky. I was born 1920. Brooklyn born... Um. Probably should say this... Mutant. Yay" she gently shook her hands as she giggles.
Bucky nodded along as she spoke, taking in her age with mild surprise— someone who knew the old world and the new one... Just like him. "1920, huh? Were you frozen in ice too?" He asked, a hint of humor to his tone. He suspected that probably wasn't the case- it probably had something to do with her being a Mutant. Still, he found himself curious.
