Someone tell hisoka —a hater of bestiality— where that ship is going pls
Interesting to think about how it is possible to "give an order" to nen. The examples I remember now are:
Hisoka asking his nen to expand and contract his heart and lungs
And Ging, who made his nen erase what was recorded on the tape
I'm reading Yu Yu Hakusho for the first time
Sometimes Kurabawa reminds me of Leorio, Kurama looks like Kurapika and Hiei looks like Killua, but Yusuke doesn't look like Gon
In fact, so far (chapter 34) he has more similarities to Ging
this platform in the middle of nowhere reminded me of the hunter exam

omgg Togashi said chapter 424 backgrounds are ready
so maybe we will have 20 chapters coming out next time??
I once commented here that I don't like the idea of Gon returning to history just to defeat Gyro. At the time, I said that I thought the script was very simple, but I didn't go deeper into the subject, so here are other reasons that make me not a fan of this idea:
1- Gon would again have to progress in a hurry
Throughout the story, Gon (and Killua) only developed nen when the current level was no longer sufficient. He learned the basics with Wing and, instead of delving deeper, went home. Afterwards, he decided that he needed to learn more because of the troupe, but a lot happened and that wasn't necessary, so he left it at that. But then his level wasn't enough to enter Greed Island, so he decided to learn more. And then he needed to train more in the game.
I know this has a narrative reason, it's so we can see the character progress without getting boring, but now Gon is back at "level 0", and Gyro is supposedly someone powerful. After reviving with an almost miraculous method, it would sound strange if he rushed through learning as well and reached high levels in such a short time.
2- Gon needs to decide what he wants to do
That's the main reason for me. Gon never wanted to play the role of a hunter. I mean, he wanted (and got) the title, and he wanted to be worthy of that title, but he never really thought about what kind of hunter he wanted to be. Perhaps the most obvious moment is at the beginning of the manga, when Leorio and Kurapika discuss what it means to be a hunter and what types of activities a hunter can and should perform, and ask Gon's opinion, who seems to have no answer. Throughout the story this doesn't seem to have changed, he never thinks about it
I apologize for the terrible quality of the images, I don't know what happened
Currently, he hasn't even decided if he wants to continue living as a hunter. I imagine he'll want to go back, but he also needs to get to know himself, that means knowing what he likes and learning to manage on his own (in fact, this is the reason why I don't think it would be good for Gon to go back to hanging out with Killua immediately after leaving Whale Island. Since the hunter exam, it's Killua who says "let's do it like this", "let's do this", "let's go to X place", "this is the plan...". Gon himself in yorknew admits that Killua's role is to be the "brain", but this is a very dependent relationship. A hunter has to think for himself. At the time he was an inexperienced child, unlike Killua, so it made sense, but now he should be able to act on his own, so he needs time to put it into practice).
Anyway, this is my opinion. To be honest, I think it's funny to imagine Gon returning to action just because of Gyro. It’s like “we have a super-powered villain trying to destroy the world, call the 14 year old without nen QUICKLY”. I know this is typical of protagonists, but hxh doesn't put the characters where they shouldn't be. The central villain of the series' biggest arc and the strongest (meruem) was not defeated by the protagonist, nor did they interact, as they had no reason to. And now most of the cast is heading out into the unknown world while facing various political conflicts, and Gon isn't there, because he doesn't need to be.
I love all the moments where Gon shows that he likes to fight, like GO MY BOY KICK THEM IN THE FACE
Togashi (probably accidentally) reversed a fairly common shonen pattern
It is very common to have a group of 3 protagonists made up of 2 boys and 1 girl, in which one of the boys has a demon in his body, and the girl is the weakest of the 3
If Gon comes back and joins Killua, we will have a trio of 2 boys and 1 girl, in which the girl is technically the strongest of the group and she is the one who has the devil in her body
In fact, as far as we know she is stronger than everyone. Nanika could just twist the entire cast's body lol
In 3050, when the hxh anime returns, would you prefer the studio to maintain the 2011 adaptation's tradition of never changing the opening song OR would you prefer the opening song to change, like the other animes?
I just saw a video that said that Kurapika can use 100% of all nen categories
I'm so tired of hearing this😭 NO, he can't
He can use 100% of what is possible for someone in his category (I don't remember if this is explained in the anime, but it is in the manga)
The manga even makes a point of saying that a level 10 kurapika with active scarlet eyes, compared to a natural emitter, can reach the level of a level 4 emitter
Attention at “level 4”. This implies that he cannot reach the level of a level 10 emitter
The "10" and "4" here perhaps mean "100%" and "40%", since it also says level 8 for transmutation, which corresponds to the 80% transmutation he can master according to the hexagon; level 6 manipulation, which corresponds to the 60% of manipulation he can master according to the hexagon, etc. In other words, a Kurapika with 100% and scarlet eyes can match a natural emitter who dominates his category by 40%
I also don't understand why, when we point out this fact, some people say it makes his power less incredible. The page makes it very clear that even if a nen user manages to dominate the entire percentage allowed for him in the other categories, he would still not be able to compete with a native user of that category, as he is not compatible. The strength of Kurapika's power is to make him compatible with all nen categories. Technically he becomes a transmuter that dominates 80%; a manipulator and a enhancer that dominates 60%; and an emitter that dominated 40%
That's why he came out unscathed from Uvogin's first punch (according to Uvogin himself, the punch had only been 20% of his strength), but he didn't come away unscathed from the second punch (Uvo broke his arm). He cannot use enhancement to fully defend himself from the attack, but he can use enhancement to heal the damage dealt
Some people don't like the Hisoka vs Chrollo fight (and that's okay, of course, it's a matter of preference), but I'm the #1 fan of this fight and I'm convinced that there wasn't a better option. I understand those who like to see superpowers colliding and get excited watching exchanges of blows, no monologues, just action, BUT
1- This was never the fighting style in hxh.
2- And, mainly: This type of fight, focusing on blows and powers, is very subjective. Whether a power lands or not, or whether a punch lands or not, is unpredictable. It is not possible to measure the characters' skills to the point of being sure who would win. We just know that they are both skilled. This could displease readers regardless of the result, and raise questions such as "He could have avoided that", "He could have got it right here", etc.
Furthermore, when it comes to these two characters specifically, both a fight focused on hand-to-hand and a fight focused on powers would be a problem
Chrollo would be very stupid if he chose to face Hisoka one-on-one. We've already learned how hard Bumgee Gum is to avoid. He would practically be giving himself to Hisoka
And, for Togashi, Chrollo would represent a problem if the combat was focused on powers. Simply because he has a book with several abilities, which we readers don't know what they are. If Chrollo were to win using a bunch of abilities we've never seen before, it could feel like a "forced script"
That's why I think the idea of having Chrollo collect skills for the purpose of killing Hisoka, and then presenting them, is brilliant. This moment has two functions:
1- Presents the new powers to Hisoka, because this way Chrollo can limit his reasoning, by making him focus on unraveling his strategy, and consequently Hisoka was unable to act freely, Chrollo knew what was going on in his mind and guaranteed a 100% chance of victory
2- It also shows the skills to the reader, as if saying "He has a book full of skills, but he will only use x, y, z"
Not to mention that it is extremely consistent with their personalities. Hisoka, driven by adrenaline as he is, was never afraid of facing a Chrollo full of unknown abilities, and later, even realizing that Chrollo already had everything prepared to win, he didn't hesitate to fight. And Chrollo, methodical, decided to solve the problem called “Hisoka” in the most efficient way possible
In my opinion, this is a fight worthy of the waiting time. It is the culmination of the strategic fights that Togashi loves to write so much. I could talk about this fight all day
Anyway, I know I repeated their name a lot here, and I'm too lazy to correct possible spelling errors, but I hope I managed to explain my opinion clearly
People tend to believe that enhancers are boring, but it's actually one of the best categories around. They have more than 50% proficiency in everything (except specialization)
Maybe people think this because the protagonist's power isn't that surprising, but in fact the possibilities are incredible
Chrollo is now drowning in an indescribable emptiness
I finished rereading Hunter x Hunter✨✨
Morena is such an interesting and fun character
and I'm curious to know what will happen, the story seems to be at its climax. Halkenburg seems to have a plan to win the war of succession, the real Hisoka appeared, Chrollo decided to go to the first floor, the troupe is going to kill the Heil-ly. And even though part of the troupe is helping fight the Heil-ly, Bonolenov killed Lynch and Hinrich wants revenge (well, Hinrich still doesn't know who killed her, but it will be a problem when he finds out).
I even have a hunch: I think the next person to die is Nobunaga. He decided to go down alone to deal with the guys who are in the ship's dump, but they are 3 people, and their skills have evolved. Meanwhile, Nobunaga is alone with a slightly improvised sword. But I think it's an obvious guess lol
For me, a simple and cute moment in Hunter x Hunter is right after Gon is cured, when he enters the middle of the election and that crowd of hunters screams asking him to be a candidate for president of the association lol
I like to imagine that Gon will be (or would be) a super well-connected hunter, with many friends in the association. It would be like Pariston, but with genuine charisma.
Think about it, things were actually already heading towards that, right? When Ging talked about friendships, having contacts and enjoying the journey, we quickly associated this only with Gon's main friends (Killua, Kurapika and Leorio), and of course they are special, they are his closest friends, but along the way Gon made many more friends and I think it's fair to remember them too
For example, the Kirikos. The Kirikos found Gon so interesting because he was able to differentiate them, and later this friendship helped Killua find the path to the hunter exam easier (in case you don't remember, Gon told Killua to go to them to get to the hunter exam). He has allies who are even star hunters, like Morau, Tsezguerra and Biske. Besides them, he also met Hanzo, Senritsu, Meleoron, Goreinu, Knov, Palm, Knuckle, Shoot, Wing, Ikalgo...
All the people I mentioned were trying to talk to Gon when he was “sick,” meaning they cared about him. In addition to them, we also have Kaito's group and Kaito himself
Anyway, Gon must be grateful for these friendships too, and I'm sure that if he continued to be a hunter the number would only increase
For a minute I remembered the chapter where gon, killua and biske spin the lucky dice and get 777 on the betting machine and I thought "WAIT that's the same number that hisoka got!". I was ready to write about this incredible coincidence, until I remembered that it was a slot machine.
That's just how it really works
777 is even in the emoji 🎰
777 is just the lucky number on the machine
But we can pretend to believe that this means Hisoka is in luck🤞🤞
Sometimes I remember Hisoka playing in the city of love on Greed Island while he was bored. And he did it not just once, but at least three times, because:
→ He knew that it was necessary to give the girl the glasses to be her friend.
→ He knew that when a girl bumped into someone, he would have to say “look where you are going” to start the conversation.
→ He also knew that if he saved the princess from the castle, they would win a rare item (however, he was not interested in the item, as killua and gon saw that he only had food and water cards). He just wanted to play the hero.
I also like the moment when he says something like “this is the kind of character that starts off with a bad impression, but you get along with him more and more”. Somehow it seems like that description could fit him lol
