âiâve got a question for ya.â it was more rare that she DIDNâT. tova had always been a child obsessed with the why of things, never content with accepting ANYTHING at face value. she had spent a lifetime asking questions - it wasnât like she could change now. âyouâve gotta answer it with the first thing that comes to mind, though, alright? thatâs real important.â that last part was debatable. she was, to put it plainly, exhausted. between playing catch up with coursework that was being laid on her at school and the extra hours she had been putting in to try and get the otherwise chaotic record stacks organized, at work, she had never been so physically wiped out. she needed something that was a bit more CASUAL, and a lot more FUN. hence - âwhatâs the worst song on p & pâs jukebox? and donât even try and tell me you havenât thought about it before, cause i know everyone has.â
âAsk away,â Nicolette didnât mind answering questions. She had been lazily flipping through pages of one of her class notebooks, bored out of her mind. She couldnât tell anyone what the last few pages were due to lack of paying attention. âOkay, okay. Iâll be as honest as I could.â An eyebrow quirked as she sat up a bit, curious. Her feet swung over from the position they were in, hitting the floor. At hearing the question, she gave a small chortle. âReally? Hmm... honestly, that Blondie song. âOne way or Another.â Canât tell you why I hate it, but Iâve never liked it. What about you? And why are you thinking about that? Pondering over song choices?â
âDoes this creature belong to you? I found it out here all alone.â It took some time to get the feline to trust him, but eventually Halvor was able to get it to approach him.  He had been walking home after a long day at work when he heard it meowing in his direction. âIf not, what would you suggest I do?â The Asgardian doesnât want to be much trouble, but he also doesnât want to lave the cat out in the cold either.
âNot mine. But what a cutie pie,â Nicolette leaned over, letting the cat sniff her hand for a minute. Slowly, she gave a short scratch on its head. Looking from the cat back to him, she shrugged. âI know that thereâs a vet in town. Either you take this cutie patootie home tonight and find the parent on the way there, go into town and give them to the vet now, or leave it here.â She gave the cat another look over. To her, it looked like someoneâs pet. She didnât know whose, but it would be better to take it in than leave it out. âMy suggestion? Choice A or B. C is pretty cruel.â
âIf you want free cookies, stop by either the dorm lobby or the front of the library. Theyâre chocolate chip. Unless you want like half a dozen now. I made way too many.âÂ
( ALEXANDRA SHIPP, CIS FEMALE, SHE/HER )â ⧠THAT LOOKS LIKE NICOLETTE XAVIER-LEHNSHERR! THEYâRE THE TWENTY-TWO YEAR OLD ADOPTED DAUGHTER OF CHARLES XAVIER & ERIK LEHNSHERR. Prior to her life with her family that she loves dearly, she lived in a small Massachusetts town with her parents. Her father was a fisherman for a company, her mother a local clerk.Â
Life was idyllic for the small family. They lived on the outskirts of their seaside town and things were good
When Nicolette was 10, however, things took a different turn in her life.Â
It was never determined how it was started, but their house was set on fire. Some believe that it was an accident, that there was just a gas leak and someone left the oven on. However, there were signs of foul play and the use of an accelerant.
No matter what was believed by townsfolk, the house was on fire. The structure of the house nearly crumbled over them, trapping them inside.Â
By the time that the fire crew had arrived, the house was in shambles. Nicoletteâs parents were flown to the nearest hospital and died from the injuries sustained.Â
Nicolette, however, left relatively unscathed after being found under some ashen rubble. There were a few cuts and such, but she was spared from the flames. This was the first time that her abilities had manifested, shielding her from the destruction.Â
From 10 to 15, she was placed in different foster homes. Usually, she had been decent, keeping herself out of trouble when she was out looking for herself. When she thought that she would finally be adopted, she was whisked away to a different home. Â
When she would have time alone, she would try to experiment with her abilities. She knew that she could make a force field for a time and occasionally move some things around initially.Â
Over time, she found that she could make and throw what she considered to be âpowerful lilac light,â but didnât initially want to hone her abilities. She wanted to be ânormal.â She knew what people did to mutants, so she kept this a secret.Â
However, this changed over time. In her final foster home, she became very close to a girl named Amber. Over time, this blossomed into a crush and relationship that they kept secret.Â
When one of her foster siblings saw them kiss, however, he told the parents. Once they found out, all hell broke loose. She was approached by the foster parents and a long argument began.
The fight ended when one parent decided to smack Nicolette as hard as they could and forbade her from seeing Amber ever again. As soon as the impact hit, she released a blast of energy that knocked the foster parents back, breaking objects in the room.Â
At that, she bolted and packed what little things she had up in a backpack. She hid for three days before she was found and returned.
Soon after returning, she met her future family. And has been so grateful that they came when they did.Â
Rather recently, she went on a trip back to her old hometown. She talked to old residents who knew her past life, saw the remains of her house. It was hard for her.
A few other things about her:
She LOVES to bake and will stress bake if it looks like things are not going her way
She doesnât have a musical bone in her body. Sheâs tone deaf but appreciates other peopleâs talent
She can be a bit overbearing at times and will do anything in her power to make things the way she wants them.
She has a ten-year plan set in motion. Sheâs on year 2 as of now and plans to be successful with a wife by year 8.Â
She will make unrealistic goals; for example, at 15, she planned on running away and never looking back. Even with no money and no job to support herself.
Keeps succulents and has named them. She canât keep actual flowers because she will accidentally kill them every time
And thatâs just some tidbits! Iâm also down to plot some friendships, enemies, or anything else! Thanks for reading!
