Honestly, I think the biggest thing is reading books with the prose you want to emulate. For me, that’s a lot of Andre Aciman (author of Call Me By Your Name — just has really beautiful prose that conjures imagery.) and Donna Tarte (The Secret History, such ambient voice.)
