RIP Dart who represents Homosexuality...
You would've hated the Duffer Brothers who represent Homophobia...
as someone who literally studied this stuff, iām sorry but why on earth would the duffers put mike and willās first meeting on willās memory tape if it wasnāt meant to mean something. thatās not a random choice. thatās not a cute callback. thatās the kind of moment you highlight when youāre saying āthis relationship is the root system.ā
and then making mike the first emotional touchstone on the tape? come on. thatās storytelling 101. you donāt give that kind of narrative priority to a relationship you plan to sideline later. you donāt build an entire visual motif around willās interiority and then centre mike in it just for fun.
so why would they do all of that, the memory tape, the first meeting, the emotional framing, only to turn around in volume 2 and the finale and act like will and mikeās relationship suddenly doesnāt matter. it makes no damn sense. itās not even about shipping at that point, itās about basic narrative coherence. you donāt plant a flag that big and then pretend you didnāt.
the least they could have done would be an emotional scene between mike and will that establishes their platonic relationship
so i was thinking where would the vecna's vision began, if the finale was partly a lie. and i think it must be only after joyce literally beheads him.. something about that moment felt weird.. it was too easy.
the mind flayer particles flew out of the kids, and the blood from vecna just pours onto the grounds.. that usually isnt a good thing?
then it cuts to black, and then dustin talks to hopper, that they're already back in the upside down with the kids and both villains defeated? fishy..
then this specific line made me pause: 'noseless bastard'
i'm gonna need to rewatch who else described vecna like that, but the only one i can remember right now was mike in 5x1:
so dustin using the same lines could show it's already inside Mike's mind. it was always pointing towards how mike would be the perfect target - both of el and will (people who have now superpowers and have the more chance to stop vecna) are closest to him.
they thought they defeated vecna and everyone was saved,
but what if they never actually got out of the mindflayer's lair.. and the mind flayer and/ or vecna won?
in s4 vecna showed nancy the vision about the future, about him attacking her family and that's what he's doing this season, all except getting to mike. until now?
he's writing gay fanfiction on ao3
Stranger Things Finale and Byler
None of us are wrong. The Duffer Brothers, Shawn Levy, Netflix are wrong. This was the most elaborate queerbait in media history. The responsibility is on them. Don't ever forget that.
All the evidence. The zoom-in on Mike when Dustin gave his speech. All suggested that Mike is not fully straight and is grieving over the loss of his first love.
BYLER IS REAL.
They gave us hope and fire that will not burn out. The subtext was ABSOLUTELY planted and is there. They just didn't deliver. No network corporte execs have the right or the ABILITY to quell our fire to want want to be human and free.

i can't get over the fact that El said "you see me for who I really am" and the NEXT SHOT was her in a disguise, clearly uncomfortable with the clothes she has been forced to wear for her own safety.
mike never saw El for who she was. El was taken advantage of, she was seen as a blank slate. the reason she may or may not believe that Mike sees her for who she truly is is because Mike TOLD her who she was. Mike wanted her to be a normal girl when she was still a freak from a lab, and wanted her to be a superhero when all she wanted was to be a normal girl.
it feels like El never found who she truly was. all I can hope is that she is living a better life with her three waterfalls.
happy mileven endgame everyone
here comes ted wheeler jr.
the dialogue this season was unbearable. so many loose end and plot holes. character assassination. this show and its creators fucking suck
the militaryās gonna be in the upside downā¦. bylerās gonna be in the upside downā¦.. they can be standingā¦. by the wallā¦. and the guns⦠can shoot above their heads⦠and they can kiss⦠as though nothing could fall
imagine in the epilogue will is chilling at the bar with the gang and carlton comes to hit on will,
but mike swings his arm over wills shoulder and gives him a death stare⦠INJECT
his face is so
the air is weird tonight
everyone is anxiously waiting for the finale to decide our fate⦠so i just wanna put something out before itās release
i love byler and this great community. thank you all for the gates, theories, and analysis. these past years, especially the last three, have been incredible. we built something so beautiful and special. tomorrow we will celebrate or mourn, but letās bask in the love we have for this ship for the last hours we have
even if will and mike donāt get together, byler will always be real šš
weirdly hopeful for the finale
i think tomorrows going to be good
If I were Mike Wheeler, I'd be EXHAUSTED. Imagine you have a crush on a guy for years. You're always initiating touch, telling him how important he is to you, everything.
Then one day, FINALLY, he gives a little playful shove. It's small, but it's something, and it's the FIRST time, YES!
Then 24 hours later he sits everybody down and says he's given up on love and accepted that he never had a chance. š¤¦
LITERALLY SO TRUE I donāt know how so many people thought Mike knew about Willās feelings back in like s3-4, Will has NEVER been the obvious one in the show, only to the audience after a point.
Exactly!!! The camera is closer to him but his ACTIONS are INCREDIBLY subtle.
Imagine you didn't see him destroy Castle Byers. Imagine you didn't see him cry out the window. Imagine you didn't see him looking at Mike while Mike wasn't looking. Imagine all you saw was Mike being flirty with Will and Will turning away. Will telling Mike he has hope that Mike and El will be able to stay together. Will not rejecting but not returning Mike's touches and words.
The script says Will feels discouraged by the fact that Mike didn't respond to his playful shove. Boy, that is what you've been doing for YEARS. Receiving, smiling, then not returning serve.
Mike is treated as stupid by so many fans, but we are shown things about Will FULLY out of his sight. And that's the ONLY reason we know about Will at all.
Will self-acceptance arc but on in the context "gay people accepting themselves it their true happy ending and nothing further", in the context of "The way I see it, you have three options: take your own life, accept your fate, or escape" "escape seems like the best option" "I think so too"
