My Grandfather died this week and I need help to get to his funeral:

So, my grandfather passed away in our home country of Antigua two days after Christmas. My family and I weren’t able to make it back to say goodbye because we have had such a difficult year financially. With my grandfather’s passing, we are scrambling to gather enough money to pay for passports and airline tickets. There are five of us so it’s going to cost well over 2k to get everyone travel ready and secure last minute tickets.

I’m trying to raise $600 to cover the cost of my ticket and take a bit of burden from my parents. I’m trying to pick up extra work but I only have a couple days to get to this goal. Please consider helping me by donating to my PayPal (PayPal.me/MarissaRei) and/or boosting this post.

I took some screenshots of this video, about “leftover women” in China, women who are unmarried and over the age of 25. I took screenshots every time someone said something that created a picture with the subtitles that just…. resonated with me. Something women can truly understand.

These women deserve to be heard.

there’s nothing wrong with drawing naked women but it’s a little odd that so many people and by people i mean men draw naked women and only naked women and spend years of their life experimenting with new art forms and finding thousands of new ways to create images of naked women

Tangential but the men drawing naked women thing always reminds me of that John Berger quote, “You painted a naked woman because you enjoyed looking at her, put a mirror in her hand and you called the painting “Vanity,” thus morally condemning the woman whose nakedness you had depicted for you own pleasure.”
