"Short version? He sent me flowers."
He sent you flowers? Someone sent you flowers? That hardly seems like a reason to drag out the guillotine. In fact, I'd say it's the exact opposite.

"Short version? He sent me flowers."
He sent you flowers? Someone sent you flowers? That hardly seems like a reason to drag out the guillotine. In fact, I'd say it's the exact opposite.
"Unless you had something to do with it, you should be fine. He, on the other hand, is dead.”
What happened, exactly?
Guess who has to sort through even more comic books at work? The answer is Felicity.
I - I really hate to bother you, but do you have any more Ms. Marvel comics?
"This is the type of thing that gets people killed for less. Come out, come out wherever you are, tree boy.
Should I be worried? Poor tree boy won't know what hit him.
"You’d have to ask them about that."
I'm sure there's some sort of medical study out there.
"What do you call a blind dinosaur? A Doyouthinkhesarus!"
Nice one! Very adorable, too.
I guess that is a good point. Good thing I don’t know any trumpeters named Joshua.
I imagine they're pretty easy to find, actually, considering... but that's probably not what you want hear, joke or not.
So… Jericho is a city? Not a person? So i don’t have any kind of name legacy to be living up to?
Well, you might want to avoid any trumpeters named Joshua.
You want nothing but patience- or give it a more fascinating name, call it hope.
Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility
Given Holy’s background she wasn’t really used to people being so willing to help her. Any sort of help offered was always taken with a pinch of salt or just plainly refused. There was a fear in her that as soon as a person got close to her they’d realise whatever her mother realised and then they’d leave. She’d never really admitted that to anyone but she knew the fear was very really and a more than likely outcome. Her mother had seen something in her, or perhaps she’d done something wrong; either way Holy knew she was no good at keeping people around.
"—Why?" The brunette asked, rather than answering the girl’s question. Clove seemed nice enough but so could everybody if that’s how they wanted to come across. She knew how easy it was to lie and couldn’t help but look over at the red head for any sign of falseness. "Why do you want to help me?"
Because I can didn't seem like a particularly polite, or eloquent, answer, but it was true. Clove was of the opinion that any opportunity she had to help someone, she should take. It was always a better option than sitting silently and watching someone struggle - and goodness knows she'd done enough of that. And, making someone else's day was a constant source of joy - and distraction. She wasn't sure if she could have kept herself together if she hadn't put so much energy toward others. This constant diversion of sympathies kept self-pity from cutting channels through her thoughts; channels that, if they formed, promised to be deep enough to swallow everything good up.
"Well, it's the kind thing to do, right?" To Clove, it was. To her, the kind thing was always the right thing, even if the right thing wasn't the easiest thing. "Unless, of course, you'd rather I leave. If that's the case, I'd be happy to." She knew that forcing anything - even happiness - on someone wasn't the best strategy. Even though she fully believed that everyone could benefit from some optimism, she tried her best to keep from forcing anyone to adopt her aggressively cheerful behavior. Sometimes, she forgot this limit, and pressed on. Actually, it scared her how easy it was to forget the line. The limit between suggestion and stubbornness was made of something flimsy; something that was invisible until it was passed through.
You know, I like the way you think. Let’s call a medal-making company right now. You can get one too for being so supportive.
Do you think there are many medal making companies out there? I can't imagine that there are, but maybe it's an industry thing. Oh! Thank you! It'll be like those medals they give to kids just for participating, except way cooler.
I-I am sorry. I was saying t-thank you…I am sorry for b-being so rude.
I suppose t-that is how s-siblings are meant t-to be. Though, m-my younger brother and I always seemed t-to get along. Oh! I work at T-Tremendous.
No, no! Don't be sorry! You weren't rude at all! If you don't mind me asking, what language was that?
Is your brother here with you? Oh! Tremendous is, well, it's tremendous! I've only been there once or twice, but I've really enjoyed each visit.
Oh, right. It a scripture, isn’t it. I don’t much read the bible, that’s why I’m not familiar with it.
It is! Basically, Joshua and the Israelites walked around Jericho once a day for six days, then seven times on the seventh day, and then they yelled and the walls came down. That's not the complete story, obviously, but it's the salient points. And now you know!
Oh you know, water, stretching. Crushed it.
So I think I totally deserve the extra dumpling when my roommates order from the Chinese place tonight.
I think you deserve the extra dumpling, and a medal - just for good measure.
Super. Super long. It was like a… hundred.
I've heard that the hundred is a killer. How did you ever make it through?
"It’s okay. Flowers are alive though, even if they’re not attached to the ground, so go easy on them."
"Were you, um, looking to get something for your sister?"
It won't happen again! And I really am sorry. But, uhm, yeah. I was. Well, I was actually looking for something for the apartment. It could use a little brightening up.
He’s a beggar for attention. You’re definitely his favorite person right now.
What is it about? I hope it’s good if it’s my namesake…
What an excellent thing to be! Nothing makes your day like petting a cute dog, which is great because the dog gets a pretty good deal, too!
Well, it's about the Battle of Jericho. More specifically, it extols the virtues of Joshua.
