Trying to get back to the things most important to me. Maybe some visible progress will help. No definite style and will be trying to play around with styles I like until I get more comfortable. :) Posting all sorts of art and sewing projects. May include Orginal art as well as Steven Universe, Sailor moon, Harry Potter and others. Will post other art and references for inspiration and/or admiration. Convert Photoshop Brushes to Images for Medibang

…And FireAlpaca!  I’m pretty sure there’s already a post like this, but I couldn’t find it. 

As far as I know, both FireAlpaca and Medibang do not have support for .abr (photoshop brush) files and only accept images.  While there are quite a number of places that offer custom brushes for these two programs, there are probably a ton more brushes for Photoshop.  

However you can extract images using ABR viewers! 

For Windows: abrMate (Direct Download)  ||  abrViewer.NET 

For Mac & Linux: ABRview (Direct Download)

Since I’m using a Mac, I don’t know how to use the windows programs, but they shouldn’t be too confusing.  

For ABRview on a Mac, click “Add Another Directory” to pick the folder where the brushes are located.  On the side, you can double click whichever brush you want to view.  

Once you do this, a folder holding all the brush images will appear in the same directory as the .jar file.  

In the folder, you will find the transparent PNG images for each brush right before the preview image.  

Now all you have to do is import the transparent PNG into Medibang/FireAlpaca as a brush and you’re done!  Don’t forget to respect the brush creators’ rules when using them! 

For more Medibang/FireAlpaca brushes and other resources, @fpacatuto has a ton of stuff.  There is also a lot of resources floating around on deviantart. 

Edit: YOU WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO ADJUST THE BRUSH SPACING AND OTHER SETTINGS TO GET IT TO WORK PROPERLY.
