On Jan 22, 2026, the National Parks Service was directed to remove the George Washington slavery exhibits at Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

Today, on President’s Day, local organizers convened to protest this act and install their own informational exhibits.

After the local organizers dispersed, a woman stayed behind to continue reading our nation’s history of slavery to the crowds gathered to see the Liberty Bell.

I’m proud of Philadelphia.
