Volleyball/Pink Pearl having a hard time accepting that Pink hurt her and continuing to make excuses for Pink hits so hard because its so true. Sometimes its hard to accept that you were abused. Sometimes its hard to accept that someone you loved and someone you thought loved you could actually hurt you.

The Pearl factory alone is horrifying, but Pink Pearl shrugging off her eye injury as having been in the way of one of Pink Diamond’s temper tantrums is even scarier. Just Pink’s destructive powers, y’know, no biggie~ and she excuses it with the fact that Pink Diamond never meant to hurt her, it was an accident.

That’s the thing though. Pink Diamond didn’t mean to hurt the other diamonds by faking her own shattering, Rose Quartz didn’t mean to hurt Pearl by setting her aside in favor of Greg, but they were all still hurt and damaged psychologically.
