pjsk au idea: middle school ichikasa where, with nowhere else to go, ichika spends much of her free time at the tenma house.

The first time she goes over after school is a spur of the moment type event, and she almost runs away after ringing the doorbell. Tsukasa so happens to be alone at home (he’s always alone at home but she’s doesn’t know that), and opens the door as she was about to leave. He’s surprised but invites her in, to which Ichika very awkwardly accepts.

Initially it’s probably very stilted between them despite Tsukasa’s best efforts. Ichika is lowk subconsciously seeking him out as a replacement for Saki, and Tsukasa likewise feels that Ichika ‘expects Saki and/or the big brother persona’ from him, and tries to live up to that. I think it would be Ichika first who begins to acknowledge Tsukasa as his own person and tries to talk with him, rather than with ‘saki’s older brother’. Eventually, they see each other almost every day and support each other through the absence of Saki, Honami and Shiho.

(Would like to mention here that I don’t think Tsukasa ever mentioned having friends in middle school? I’m probably wrong but his only close connections during childhood appear to be his family. would give him and ichika loner2loner communication)

more fun stuff!:

- they probably end up visiting saki together at one point. Like you’re telling me that canon Ichika was the only close friend visiting Saki and she never visited with Tsukasa?? if people claim kanakasa via hospital visits why do people never claim ichikasa. lol

- what if Ichika and Tsukasa went to the same middle school. Maybe Ichika never registered his existence there other than when Saki called to him, but now she notices how he never seems to be hanging out with anyone.

- earlier in their relationship, Ichika invites Tsukasa to see a meteor shower with her. The reminder was in her phone for years and years, from when she and her friends had promised to see it again together. In the present day, it’s while Tsukasa speaks about the wonder of stars in the night sky (so different from what Honami, and even Saki would have said!) that Ichika finally begins to see him for his own person.

- this au quite easily rejoins canon at the time of saki’s discharge, just with a stronger ichikasa relationship!
