i really like this comparison, cuz i believe the implication in dune is that the capitalism kind of just bent back into feudalism- in star trek they get rid of the system that enshrines those in power, in dune that never happened so of course all your technology and what not is gonna go sour because it’s controlled by individuals with their own motives.
