hi, i just found your page and i'm interested, but could you tell me a little about the group first? seeing as i don't know anyone i'm a bit apprehensive.

hey! Nice to sort-of meet you, anon. Well, as of late we haven't been very active on the meet-up front, but in the past (and hopefully more in the future) we've done little get togethers at parks and pizza joints and things. If you look a bit back on the blog you can find some pictures of us hangin out, and some of the silly little doodles we do at our meets :)

We've got a facebook page and a running skype group that you should definitely check out (although, like I said we've been in a bit of a lull recently). Check out Central Arkansas Homestucks on facebook and add me (PoofSouffle) on skype and I'll put you in the group! Your friendly neighborhood palhonchos include: me (HeirOfWhimsy), and the slightly less active mods PiraticalPsyche and Paingineering. Shoot us a message and say hey!

It's kinda hard to see who the other followers are on the blog so... I guess our members can like this post or something? So you can see who they are and maybe check out their blogs and make some new buds!

MEET UP LOCATION CHANGE!!

Due to bad weather on Sunday, we are changing the party to be at the US Pizza on McCain, where we had the 4/13 meet (4001 Mccain Park Dr, North Little Rock). We have the room at five, reserved under Brianna Haley. Because we are going to be at a pizza place we won't be able to do full out costumes anymore :C Closet cosplays are fine, but not anything TOO weird, right? Bring a little money with you to get pizza! You can find a menu on the US Pizza website. We'll have a cake and if you want you can still bring a dessert or something. I think that's everything? As usual, just ask if you have any questions.

ALRIGHT GUYS SO HERE'S THE THING.  The latest forecast is predicting pretty awful weather for Sunday. We had set this up to be an outdoor event, and without that possibility I think it's safe to say that 11/11 day at our house is CANCELLED. So we can do one of two things. We can postpone the event indefinitely (next weekend is looking like gross weather too bluh) or we can try to relocate! I was thinking of trying to reserve that room at US Pizza again, since that was pretty successful last time! Hopefully no one's snagged it before us and we'll be able to have it for longer than two hours haha. If that is a thing y'all want me to do let me know and I'll make some calls! If anyone else has any ideas for an indoor venue, let me know! :O

So you know how I said I was gonna stop doing discount commissions? I lied. I’m doing a little bit of fundraising for a CA-Homestucks event that is fast approaching, so if you want to buy some art to help out with that that’d be tops.

Fall Events Upd8

The Halloween Cover-Up Show is TOMORROW NIGHT

I’ve called the venue and they informed me that this is a 21+ show! PLEASE let me know if you are interested in attending! The music starts at 9:30 PM and I figured we could meet up around 9??

I couldn’t get a straight answer about admission— the person i was talking to had a flyer that didn’t have admission deets on it, but she told me it’d probably be $5 if there was an admission fee at all. When the ACAC hosted the event, admission was like $5 and free with a costume. Either way, bring yourself a fiver to avoid any awkwardness if there IS an admission charge.

Again, PLEASE let me know if you are planning on going!

Boo at the Zoo is SATURDAY NIGHT

Gates open at 6 PM and I recommend getting your tickets in advance if you can! They are selling them on the zoo’s website and it’s cheaper than buying them at the gate. Not to mention no waiting in line when you get to the zoo

Again, PLEASE RSVP IF YOU PLAN ON GOING. I’d like to try and get there relatively early, I’m going to shoot for 6PM but it will probably be later than that before we get inside. I figure we can hang out around the gift shop until the full party shows up, so it’s really important that you let me know if you’re planning to attend!

To be honest though I haven't been to a halloween cover-up show since the ACAC hosted it and that was some years ago. are they still fun?

Okay that said I would like to tentatively extend the invitation to our 18+ members. I think this might be an all-ages show (though I will call tomorrow to confirm)

Again, I'm only officially extending the invite to 18+ members. If you're younger than that I'm not going to stop you from coming, but I won't be taking on any kind of facilitator role for this meetup and there will be no chaperons of any kind, so your parents better not be dropping you off under the impression that i'm gonna be babysitting you because i will be drunk and i will be kurloz and that is not a good combination of things that should be responsible for your flesh and blood

(though you all know i am more than pleased to be the group's mother hen for our all-ages meetups ♥)

Yes we are dressing up! I'm going as Grimdark Rose, Breezy's going as Kurloz, Bee is being Tavros, and Psyche is probably being Jade or Grand HighBoob but I don't think she's decided yet.

Only what was said in the post. It will probably be early in the afternoon for those who have to travel, or who can't stay out late, or what have you. But besides that we haven't decided on an exact time.

Fall Events!

I know it's been quiet with CA-Homestucks lately. There has been a lot going on and it's been really hard for us to pull together and plan events. WELL THAT IS ABOUT TO CHANGE. 

Fall is just the best season for events and we've got a heck of a lineup planned for you guys. Starting us off:

Boo At The Zoo Meetup: - Oct. 27th at the Little Rock Zoo

Wear your favorite costumes, trick some treats and maybe look at some nighttime animals with the CA Homestucks gang! An all-access admission bracelet is $15, and that will allow you unlimited access to all of the rides and attractions. Once it gets closer to the date, we will plan for a designated meetup time/place since this will probably be BatZ's busiest night.

21+ Halloween Party Night: -Oct. 26th (subject to change) 

For the adult members of CA Homestucks! I'd like to meet up and check out one of the local Halloween events going on this year! Currently I am leaning towards the Halloween Cover-Up, that will be at the White Water Tavern at 9:30PM. There is also a Halloween party happening at the Peabody on the 29th, and if I remember correctly Pizza D'Action does a Halloween thing every year. I'd love to get some input from other members on this! Costumes and drinking: what's not to love?

CA-Homestucks Fall Party: -November 11th

Ah, the main event. This will be a backyard party hosted by your lovely admins at our home in Little Rock. Games, food, crafts, and Cantown, oh my! We will be providing decorations, drinks, and grilling hotdogs (a vegetarian option will be provided if needed), and will probably have some kind of candy or snacks. If you can, plan to bring a food-thing! Donations are also welcome, too, get in touch with me if you're interested in that. This will be a costume party, so show us your costume skillzzz! 

We'll have a more specific time for you guys once we get closer to the date, though it will probably be pretty early in the evening. THIS WILL BE A DRY PARTY, ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL PERMITTED.

We are always eager to hear your suggestions and ideas! Let us know if these dates work for you, and anything special you would like us to make happen.
