I made a spreadsheet showing all the Alchemy and Embalming formulas in the game, as well as how to produce all the alchemy ingredients! I got tired of flipping between pages on the wiki (which is really laggy).

best/greatest thing since sliced bread- (anglais américain) très bien ‘le mieux depuis le pain tranché’

upper crust- haute société (la croûte supérieure)

dough- l’argent ‘la pâte’ (argot)

man does not live by bread alone- on a besoin de plus que nos besoins physiques ‘l’homme ne vivra pas de pain seulment’ (de la bible)

to break bread- partager un repas, ‘rompre le pain’ (de la bible).

to butter one’s bread on both sides- tirer profit de deux chose contradictoire. ‘beurrer le pain sur des deux côtés’

to know which side one’s bread is buttered on- savoir où est votre intérêt dans une situation donnée. ‘savoir le coté où le pain est beurré’

to sell like hot cakes- se vendre comme des petits pains

to get that bread- gagner d’argent ‘gagner du pain’ (informel)

French podcasts I’m listening to at the moment:

Tranfert: people talk about important events in their life, there are a lot of triggering episodes (they talk about abuse, rape, lies, eating disorders, but also religion, family dramas etc.), duration: 45-60 minutes, new episode: every second Thursday

Le monde devant moi: is about current topics- in France, but also internationally (e.g. they talked about the France- Turkey issue, then about the US election), duration: 20- 30 minutes, new episode: every Saturday

Le nuage: it is a story about how a nuclear power station in France is malfunctioning, very entertaining!, duration: 20-25 minutes, 5 episodes in all

Le Bureau des Mystères: talks about mystery stories, rather funny I thought, duration: 1 hour, new episode: not sure, I think every two weeks [I’ve only listened to the first episode so far, but I like it]
