A hug from puppy would cure me. He could be asleep in his special pup bed and you’re just snuggling up to him because you’re in need of the affection.
You come home after a long day, your body and mind completely exhausted. This past week had pushed you to your very limits. You're filled with a slight sense of relief at the fact that you can stay home and rest over the weekend - but you can't help the dread that you feel at the prospect of repeating it all over again once Monday comes.
You sigh as you unlock the front door, kicking your shoes off and placing your bag off to the side. The house is quiet, and there's no sign of Noah. You already know that he's most likely curled up in your shared bedroom, softly snoozing. He's such a sleepy little guy.
When you enter the bedroom, your assumptions are confirmed. You find Noah sleeping in his plush, human-sized dog bed. There's a blanket draped over his sleeping form, and a stuffed animal that he holds closely and cuddles against. Your heart practically melts at the sight.
You don't waste any time as you clamber into the dog bed, pulling the blanket over your own body too, settling yourself to face Noah. Noah is slightly awoken by your movements. He lets out a soft noise of affection as you curl up beside him, registering the fact that you've finally returned home for the day.
"Missed you," he mumbles, before planting a clumsy, wet kiss to your jaw. He hums softly, before re-arranging himself so that he's the one that's holding you close. He ensures that his stuffed animal is comfortably pressed between your chest and his.
His arms come to wrap around your back, gently pulling you closer. He settles his head so that it's resting above yours, the bottom of his chin resting against your hair. One of his hands travels to your waist, settling itself beneath the fabric of your t-shirt. His hand feels so warm against your bare skin, his touch both grounding and reassuring.
Less than minute passes before Noah is asleep again, his soft snores gently echoing throughout the room. When he exhales, his warm breath feels so comforting against the top of your head. It's a silly little thing to be aware of - but it brings you such comfort.
You move until you're pressed impossibly closer against him. You can't help but bury your face in his chest, inhaling. Noah smells so unfairly good - a mixture of home, safety, and comfort.
You wish you could stay like this forever.
It takes you a little while before you fall asleep. Your mind is still racing, and you can't quite shut it off when it's still going a million miles a minute. Being curled up to Noah helps, though - and you can slowly feel both your thoughts and your heart rate begin to slow.
You feel so unbelievably grateful - for Noah, for your dynamic, for the fact that the two of you are able to read each other so well and adapt to the other's needs.
With that thought circling your mind, you fall asleep.
Also this ask reminded me of this fic (forgive me for the self plug)
