EDIT: the compression kindof maimed this video, to view in (slightly) higher quality, view on instagram this is an effect i made for a local party a few months ago, rendered realtime with touchdesigner using a kinect v2! this clip was recorded live during the party

kinect point cloud > POP grid, fed through several noise POPs to add audioreactive changes to the scale, rotation, and position of the points, then used a copy POP to instance a 3D shape (cube) onto each point.

i kind of just noodled around until i got something that looked cool-- the original tutorial i followed for creating a kinect point cloud used traditional geo COMP instancing, which required all the noise to be added via TOPs before converting the data to points. it was fun trying to figure out how to pull the point cloud data into POPs instead.

got a lot of really positive feedback on this effect which was super nice!
