just a little parachuter. It’s been a while since I last drew a character’s turn around for animation, and I’m quite happy with how it turned out :)

La petite radio Un peu de nouveauté par ici ! Je travaille encore sur mon projet de diplôme, j'ai entamé la production du court métrage avec des plans en noir et blanc inspirés du style graphique d'Aubrey Beardsley.
By Alexander Dumas the Younger : Great novel you can read online here archive.org/details/ladyofcame… It tells the story of a young courtesan in 19th century Paris. A young man falls madly in love with her and tries to take her away from all other men around. His affection for her is so pure and absolute that for the first time, she surrenders to her own feelings and abandons her lovers for the man she truly loves. But her pulmonary desease weakens her day after day and they soon find themselves in desperate need for money... Totally worth reading It inspired the "Traviata" Opera... which enlightens the fate of the heroine.

A little prince got lost and found shelter in a chapel.
A little character design today! A knight, a cleric and a...princess? I’ve had lots of fun drawing those, I wanted those guys to look cute and silly, as if they were part of a colorful cartoon (the red-headed one looks a bit like a creep, but every story needs one :D )
Can you imagine two opposite families?
The first one is the Pecabli family: They seem quite artificial, self absorbed, very busy because of their time-consuming job. I wanted to make them look like they are in control of their image, looking at the camera as if they were disturbed or interrupted in their business. Besides, i wanted the composition to look rather “flat” like a one-dimensionnal family portrait. It seems like they gathered to take a picture but try to hide something in the background.
The other family is the Dorante family: They don’t seem to care about being observed, they enjoy themselves together, selling bracelets, playing music, smoking and making jokes. Their pets have no leash and nothing there seem to be an overall feeling of ease and sweetness among them.
I hope you like the character design here, I really enjoyed working on those portraits :) It was very interesting to imagine the different lives of those families.
Character Design time !
I chose to put a famous historical-cultural figure in a different context here ... Do you recognize her? :p
a little witch to start the week off right

Happy New Year everyone :)
Here is a little new year card i’ve been working on lately. I have been learning how to use Adobe After Effects, and I can’t wait to use it again, especially on the scenery-layout of the animation. It adds depth and dynamism to the whole thing.
Hope 2017 brings you happiness, love, health and the energy to accomplish your dearest plans :)

AHhhhhhh_holidays at last.
Just a few DAYS to enjoy free time and doodle. Feels so good !
a little clown lady today (with that “oh! didn’t see you there!” expression ) :)
Illustrations I did for my Children’s book illustration course. The interesting part of the job was to work so that the reader can put the drawings upside down and understand what’s going on in the picture. It took days before I could finish those with my tiny pen, I’m not used to going so far into detail, but I’m quite happy with the result :) Hope you like it too.
Just so you know: I have a Society6 account where I submitted this design as a pattern for mugs, t shirts and even pillows, you can have a look at the shop here :) https://society6.com/ceciliadermy
Landscape painting exercice ! I loved working on concept art today : We had to create Heroic Fantasy-like sceneries, a luminous, quiet one and a darker ominous one. Hope you like them, It’s almost 4 hours of work each.
