I really wonder how can people say Giorno is “bland”. He’s probably the smartest JoJo with the greatest potential. He hurts himself and risks his life multiple times to save the others, he is worried about them. He’s far from perfect, at one point he almost gave up. Without him the plot wouldn’t even have happened, cause he was the one who brought everything in motion. He is very polite, but also merciless. His powers are much more defensive than offensive and need a lot of brains to work.
He’s only seen as “bland” or “boring” cause he doesn’t constantly ora ora people in the face or say some cool shit. You don’t have to like Giorno, but the argument that he is boring is a bad one tbh and not very valid.
He also has something few other Joestars ever have: Goals. Life goals, for that matter. He becomes head of the Mafia at age 15. It’s been his dream since he was young. Jotaro, in contrast, became a marine biologist over ten years after he fought DIO, when he was just an edgy teen who barely said anything. Josuke’s an actual teenager who just wants to have fun with his friends and probably hasn’t given much thought to his future, as a normal teen would. Joseph and Jolyne got dragged into adventure after wandering aimlessly through young adulthood. Only Johnny can match Giorno in terms of burning desire. As much as I would have liked more emphasis on being DIO’s son, that’s a pretty big portion right there: Giorno has the kindness of a Joestar, with the drive of a Brando. All the other Joestars want to fight their enemies and then retire to a private life after having done their part, which is fine, they saved the world, too. But only Giorno actually dedicates his entire life to bettering society and never stops. He isn’t waiting for a problem to arise, he’s out there looking for them. A proactive hero among reactive ones. So, so not bland.
